Interesting that people are focused on making fun of the jumping Grogu scene when the baby bird scene is right there.

I think people were weirded out by him eating those poor woman’s eggs in that little tank. That was an odd attempt at comedy.
I haven’t kept up with this show but I’ve heard mixed things. I’ll wait until they’re all out then binge but man, Star Wars is becoming a chore.

Not to say I'm not enjoying Mando. I like him and grogu a lot.
But rant time. Lately in these new star wars shows they've been making the star wars universe more and more like regular life. There's always been elements of that, but the original trilogy very much felt like its own world. But these new shows feel like transplants from our world to theirs. For example, cubicles at the new republic building, and greedo like aliens works at desks like secretaries. Space pirates that look like traditional pirates with bandanas and the like. I dunno, it really gets to me.

I dunno, it really gets to me. When you've got an entire TV series to develop a world with, you're going to wind up exploring more than just the big action events. As for the Space Pirates, it's worse than you think. Did you not notice that the pirate Captain's sidekick is dressed exactly like Mr. Smee from Disney's Peter Pan (1953)?

I wasn't in a rush to watch season 3. I haven't even watched Andor yet. But the internet has kept spamming that photo of Jack Black and Lizzo, so I figured I might as well knock out the 6 episodes that have aired thus far. The show is fine. I don't get all the bitching and moaning from IanTheCool. Listen, J.J. Abrams and Rian Johnson fucked up. Accept it. The sequel trilogy is a clogged toilet that has stunk up the place. In 2012, when Disney bought LucasFilm, I immediately got into an argument with Dracula because I recommended Jon Favreau for the job. I argued that Star Wars would only be able to succeed going forward if it world built. Episode 6 ended with Luke defeating the Empire and saving the galaxy. But did he really? Is the Empire really gonna end cause the Emperor is dead? I'm sure there are people underneath Palpatine that would wanna cause trouble. I felt Favreau would be good for the job cause he successfully launched the Marvel Cinematic Universe. They instead go with Mr. Mystery Box and Mr. Subvert Expectations and they made a trio of films that made absolutely no sense whatsoever. How the fuck do the Rebels win and then 30 years later they're literally back to square one? J.J., you gotta answer some damn questions. I see where disgruntled employee Doomsday is coming from. The Boba Fett Show and season 3 of Mando have their issues. But... look at the gigantic pile of shit that Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni inherited. I'm going to at least applaud them for making some sense of how we got from Episode 6 to Episode 7 while also tackling the politics of George Lucas' prequel trilogy. Favreau is doing exactly what I wanted him to do over a decade ago. World build! So yes, I'm perfectly fine with season 3. Lizzo and all.

Its about wanting different things from the franchise I guess. I think the world-building is junk, but whatever.

For me, it's like there was an idea for a Mandalorian story and an intro to a Baby Yoda character. That was all done then resolved at the end of season 2 in a neat way, at least on paper. Now, like many good shows, it doesn't seem to know which direction to go or what to do. Luke finding Grogu was Jim and Pam getting together. Now what? We don't know, we're just going to keep going and hope for the best.

A little bit of romance. Some humor. Should have just be left alone. But then the prequels came. And then the sequels. Sounds like Star Wars lost you at midichlorians. This all gonna lead to bodybuilder girl bringing back Palpatine and also being responsible for Snoke. We also got the episode in which Ahmed Best (freaking Jar Jar Binks) rescues Baby Yoda during Order 66. We'll see what that leads into.
