Have we learned nothing from The Inhumans? You can't do live-action Star Wars on a TV budget. Besides, we've already got a movie coming out every year now. That's plenty.

Just put Seth MacFarlane in charge of it? The Orville gets to continuously use the same sets due to the way Star Trek stories are told. Star Wars isn't about life aboard a starship. In addition to being about interplanetary conflict, Star Wars is always a road trip movie. Every film has at least three different environments to be explored. A TV show would need a new planet every two or three episodes, and nobody wants to see the desert or a forest preserve used anymore. Been there, done that.

Expanding the universe is expensive. Too expensive for TV. Also, this shit ain’t airing on ABC. It’s for Disney’s streaming service that’s coming out soon. It’s basically their Star Trek Discovery.

A Star Wars live-action series is starting to make more sense, considering what's come out about Star Trek: Discovery recently. STD's production was never really about making a profit. It's sole purpose was to bring in subscribers to CBS All-Access, which it failed at pretty miserably. The series brought in new subscribers, but nowhere near enough to justify the expense. Disney might have better luck at it, if they do it right. After all, Disney has a lot more going for it than CBS. Once the Fox deal goes through, they'll have even more. I'd love to see a big budget TV series of the X-Men.

Jon Favreau is 10x a better director than JJ Abrahams.
The man has an eye on understanding what people truly want to see on screen. The fact that he's being used to TV instead of films is stupid.
He should be taking over reigns over a new Star Wars Trilogy films, instead of Rain Johnson.

He should be taking over reigns over a new Star Wars Trilogy films, instead of Rain Johnson. He's busy with The Lion King. And being Executive Producer doesn't mean he'll be a showrunner. He was an EP on The Orville and that was very much Seth MacFarlane's show.

Thats why it sucks. I would rather have him direct a new Star Wars film. I don't really care for Star Wars TV or whatever it is.

The director of Cowboys & Aliens and Chef you mean?
Nothing he's done is as good as the Star Trek reboot, MI:3 or The Force Awakens. Including Iron Man.
He's Brett Ratner-tier.

I like Jon Favreau a lot. One of the few genuine people in Hollywood.
Both Swingers and Iron Man give him enough leeway to be afforded the ability to be given a job like this

Now that's just plain mean. While I didn't particularly care for Chef, it was a well made film. Favreau brings something to the table when he's in charge of a production. He's not a hired gun with no vision like Ratner.

People don't like Jon Jon Favreau? I've never seen a bad directed film by him... Even Cowboys and Aliens and Iron Man 2 aren't as bad as people make it out to be.
He's miles better than Brett Ratner and JJ Abrahms as far as I'm concerned.

I suspect most of the credit for the quality of those movies should go to the actors involved, rather than the director. When it comes to the action scenes in Rush Hour, the reason those turned out as well as they did is because Ratner put the cameras where Jackie Chan told him to. Action scenes in Ratner's other films don't look nearly as good. It's hard to believe that Rush Hour and X-Men: The Last Stand have the same editor. I've gotta wonder if Jackie spent some time in the editing bay to lend a guiding hand there as well. Rush Hour's action is shot and edited to let Jackie shine. X3 is loaded with jump cuts to the point where you can barely see what Jackman is doing half the time.

I will probably to watch Star Wars live-action TV show. That will be great. I don't have Disney channel anymore. Probably I will see on YouTube video.
