Once again, five of the top ten movies of the year are from Disney. They didn't manage to dominate the entire top five the way they did last year, but I'm sure Mickey is okay with that. Once the Fox deal finally goes through, that number is only going to get higher.

It bugs me that they aren't in order of release date.

2018 once again sees five of the top ten movies coming from Disney, but only at the domestic box office. The International box office only had three. There were however, two movies from Fox in the top ten.

Non-profits are exempt, so my main rep theater is probably safe.

That’s the tagline for the poster. Get Doomsday and LucasFilm on the phone.

I would pay to hear Sean Connery pronounce 'house of mouse'.

Disney managed to dominate again in 2019, with seven films in the Top Ten Worldwide. What's more, every one of them is (or will be in the case of Star Wars) in the Billion Dollar Club. As if that wasn't enough, of the three non-Disney movies on the list, one of them is Spider-Man: Far From Home, which was produced by Marvel Studios for Sony Pictures. Warner Bros. got Joker, and Universal got Hobbs & Shaw. I thought that perhaps Jumanji: The Next Level might be able to make it into the Top Ten, but that doesn't appear at all likely anymore.
I wasn't too concerned with Neverending's post regarding Disney refusing to book Fox movies for repertory screenings at the time, but that really hit home in December when the Alamo Drafthouse didn't have any screenings of Die Hard on Christmas Eve. I just about lost my shit over that one. Unacceptable!

Assuming Star Wars and Frozen outgross Joker and Jumanji doesn't gross a hundred million more Disney will be involved in the top eight highest grossing movies and numbers nine and ten will be R-rated Warner Brothers movies about evil clowns.

Cue an influx of new entries in the evil clown genre to capitalise on the zeitgeist.
