It's weird how the actors make no effort to sell the battle. Children add more believability in those space ship rides outside the grocery store.

So the first half hour of this movie was just a ploy by Palpatine/Grevious to get Anakin to the Dark Side. They sacrificed Christopher Lee for Hayden Christianson. Amazing.

Obi Wan put too much faith in Anakin.
So... Palpatine overstayed his leadership in the Republic, using war as an excuse. The Jedi Counsel, due to their alligance to the Senate, want Anakin to spy on Palpatine. Meanwhile, Palpatine wants Anakin to spy on the Jedi while he's seeking votes to continue war instead of bringing back diplomacy. Sam Jackson and Yoda don't trust Anakin anymore and are suspicious of Palpatine.
