Oh, we will be...for undergrads. We grad students are shit out of luck. Are you more angry about potentially being exposed to a deadly virus, or about having to leave home every day? Bit of both? My laziness was looking forward to being able to stay home, but I also am a bit frustrated. Grad classes are obviously a lot smaller so there's less risk, but at the same time one of my classes crams all of us in a fairly small room for three hours which doesn't seem like the smartest move in a rising pandemic. I also have to take a colloquium class which is sometimes useful, but is often just fluff and putting myself at risk for that is just eye-rolling. I'm also a bit annoyed since with undergrad courses shifting to online, the tutorial sessions I teach are now re-purposed online. In other words, the highlight of my work week is now gone but the less pleasurable parts are still on. Plus, from where I'm standing, everything I need to do for these classes, especially regarding assignments, I can do from home. On the plus side, because I'm experienced with the online platform my school uses, the film department has tapped me to help any profs who need to shift their content online. Adds a little extra pocket change and hopefully further demonstrates that I'm useful and they should keep me around. |

bottom line. we should look to our local governments for guidance because yesterday, Trump said it's all very much under control - and it's not.
Trump is still not taking responsibility for shutting down all the pandemic response guards that Obama had all set up. He said he didn't know anything about the stopping of that safeguard when it's HIS administration that did it.

I'm in Indiana at the moment. Bars and restaurants are closing here as well, but only for dining in.
Schools are all closed in Ohio for the remainder of the year.
