You could say that about most Highlander sequels, honestly. Especially that fifth one. Most? I'm curious which ones feel like Highlander sequels. It's been so long since I've watched a Highlander movie, but each one is kind of uniquely bad. Probably the most Haghlander-y is the fourth one. But then again, I remember nothing about the third other than Mario Van Peebles was in it.

Blade Runner is a bit different though because the Final Cut does away with the shitty narration and ending. There's 50 different versions of Blade Runner inbetween Blade Runner Theatrical Cut and Blade Runner Final Cut.

That sounds like the third. "Sorry for Highlander II. Now check out my ass." So that's where Tommy Wiseau got the inspiration from.

"Sorry for Highlander II. Now check out my ass." So that's where Tommy Wiseau got the inspiration from. When you want an extreme close up you say, “give me a Sergio Leone.” When you’re shooting a sex scene and want to focus on the dude’s ass you say, “give me a Christopher Lambert.” Or a Van Damme.

1godzillafan SnoBorderZero PG CooperI owe everyone an apology. I looked it up. While there is a Desperado (1995) style sex scene in Highlander III: The Sorcerer, just look up “Deborah Kara Highlander III”, the Christopher Lambert ass shot is an hour into The Sicilian. Sorry. My brain combined two movies into one.

The fuck is this movie?
It's two-and-a-half hours long, and Christopher Lambert is the one carrying the thing? Wow.

JUNE 15, 2014 06:05 AMDISNEY'S THE BLACK HOLE (1979) 1979 was a year filled with movies trying to cash-in on the success of Star Wars, but here's a film that reminds me of the Star Wars PREQUELS. The Black Hole is about a group of astronauts who find a long lost space ship that's stranded near a black hole. When they investigate, they discover a mad scientist and his army of servant robots. The mad scientist reveals that he has spent the last 20 years studying the black hole, and with the help of the astronauts, he's ready to travel through it. The premise for the movie is quite intriguing and Disney spent a record budget (for 1978-79) to bring it to life. The special effects, production design, cinematography and music (by John Barry from the James Bond series) are spectacular. But the film is lacking one VERY important thing: actors who give a s--t. Despite having a cast that includes Robert Forster, Anthony Perkins and Ernest Borgnine, almost none of the actors put any effort into their roles. This is literally Star Wars prequels acting and it destroys the movie. Without any characters that feel like human beings, it's very difficult to get emotionally attached to The Black Hole. B- says Doomsday

That's a pretty old theory, and one that I find rather reductive. Taking the red pill is meant to be a larger statement about seeing past the limits of society and conformity and becoming conscious of the way it controls you. Of becoming "woke" so to speak. Coming out as Trans is ultimately about becoming yourself and then going on about your life, not about fighting back against the system and freeing everyone else. Very dated theory. Surprised this is the first you've heard it.

SnoBorderZeroI’ve always been iffy on the look of Total Recall. Something always seemed off to me. But this 4K remaster is very impressive.

It definitely looks like an '80s movie, which in my opinion was a decade of far less intriguing compositions and lighting styles than the '70s and '90s. Then again aside from T2, I don't know how many Ahnuld movies really look all that outstanding anyways.

It definitely looks like an '80s movie The red hue and the lighting looked slightly off, but in this 4K remaster it seems like they fixed it. It looks more organic to the environment. I still prefer the look of the original Terminator. I like my noir, sir.

True, original Terminator is a great looking movie too.
Yeah the remaster here does look really solid. Not bad at all for a movie that's as old as me.
