It's a movie that's trying to take a slow-burn storyline that Uncanny X-Men spent four years telling, and distilling it into a movie that's less than two hours long. Keeping expectations low is for the best.

Sucks to be Simon Kinberg, his directorial debut. I'm sure Kevin Feige is annoyed. From a business stand point, I get it, but they should have just released this and New Mutants as "Hulu Originals".
Is anyone saying it's at least better than Apocalypse? If it is, I'll probably go ahead and see it in the theaters anyway. If it's being considered worse, I'll probably wait and eventually stream it.

Right now this has a worse RT score than Wolverine. It's very possible critics are over-exaggerating. RT is an aggregator. Even if most critics are saying "It's better than Origins, The Last Stand, and Apocalypse" the review would still show up as rotten if they still didn't enjoy the movie. Some of these same critics gave Wolverine/Venom a positive review. |
