Thank for the heads up, wouldn't have seen that until after work. Just picked up The Graduate, The Kid, Inside Llewyn Davis, The Life of Oharu, and the Mizoguchi eclipse set.

I had an Amazon gift card and some credit card points so I picked up Inside Llewyn Davis and The Kid a couple weeks ago. I'll have quite a haul coming for the B&N sale in July after Manchurian Candidate, Easy Rider and Brief Encounter blu-rays are all released on top of The Graduate and a couple others that are already out that I intend to pick up.

Do you guys get the Criterion newsletter emailed to you? They include hints for upcoming releases. This month's hint is clearly Dr. Strangelove so that should be coming sometime this summer.

The Blu Ray I have is pretty good, but if the Criterion comes with tantalizing enough extras (and I'm sure it will) I'll probably double dip.

I already have both. I guess we'll see how much of an upgrade the audio-visual is.

I wonder if they will have the different cuts of New World. I think I heard that they're sticking to the 172 minute cut because that one is Malick preferred and they always defer to the judgment of the director when the director is alive.

They also more or less confirmed Malick's The New World This is great news. I was going to buy it on blu-ray recently, but after seeing Criterion's "announcement", I quickly backed off.

Some exciting stuff, a little disappointed that there aren't a ton of bonus features on Clouds, but that seems to be their MO on recent releases.

I like the Strangelove cover. It isn't what I expected them to do.

Once again Criterion postpones their announcements. It's almost comical at this point that their 'announcement date' is the 15th of the month which nowadays they seldom abide by.

Criterion has never officially said that the 15th is their official announcement date. People just noticed that it usually happens around then and started to think they were entitled to announcements every 15th.
