Is Arrow trying to do more of a Criterion-like release announcement strategy?

Why did they change the cover for The Rules of the Game?

Why did they change the cover for The Rules of the Game? Because, like the French aristocracy, Criterion is an institution in decline.

Had a pile of $10 credits as a Criterion Channel charter member so I decided to order directly from Criterion. Provided my order comes through without issue, I grabbed the following:
Parasite Malcolm X My Man Godfrey The Wages of Fear Naked Sansho the Bailiff Sweet Smell of Success Scorsese Shorts

Started the day 94 points away from another $50 gift certificate and had about $30 worth of other Criterion gift codes. So, I bought the Three Films by Luis Buñuel boxed set, Welles' Othello, and Inland Empire, which came to a sub-total of $94.91. $50 gift card scored. I then turned that around and did a second order of The Michael Haneke trilogy, Romeo and Juliet, and An Investigation of a Citizen Above Suspicion. Total with tax was 86.32... so, with the $50 gift certificate and the $30 in old codes I got that whole second order for just a little bit over $6.

Criterion posted their July releases early instead of after the weekend. And they're finally releasing After Hours after years of people stomping their feet. I might pick that up if only to have something to buy during the B&N sale.

Just watched One False Move. I really enjoyed it and will probably add to my July list.

I thought this was a pretty great clip on the restoration of the Apu Trilogy.
