Ebert's review of Naked Lunch seems to exactly describe my thoughts on mother! the more that particular movie sits with me. I remember giving it three stars initially, but ever since when I've reflected on it, "I admired what he did...and I hate it," is kind of spot-on with my current thoughts on it.

If this is your bag and you sell things on ebay you can easily sell it there if you don't like it. I've sold a couple Criterions and I usually get as much as I paid for it initially.

It looks like you missed the sarcasm there because in fact I haven't seen Seven Samurai. I wasn't entirely sure, I was leaning that you hadn't seen it then again you said you watched all the AFI Top 100 movies so I thought if you were that thorough maybe you would have squeezed Seven Samurai in somewhere or other. But yeah Seven Samurai needs to be on your shelf no question. |
