December titles:
Heart of a Dog - December 6 The Exterminating Angel - no date listed but probably December 6 Fellini's Roma - December 13 The Asphalt Jungle - December 13 The Tree of Wooden Clogs - the Criterion website lists this as February 14, 2017....

..... so no girl friday then.... No Before Trilogy either. So, when they tease movies in the newsletter that does not mean you're necessarily going to see them anytime soon, it just means you'll see them eventually. There have been newsletter teases that have gone many months before they're brought to fruition. December is always a light month because they want the really good stuff out for the holiday hopping season, they never put out highly anticipated stuff in December.

Are you telling me Heart of a Dog isn't highly anticipated? There are some people who like it... I couldn't get past the first 25 minutes.

I've been wanting to see The Tree of Wooden Clogs. I liked Ermanno Olmi's other work.

Thanks for the heads up. Missed my chance to pick up Short Cuts and The Dekalog but was able to order Boyhood, Pan's Labyrinth, McCabe & Mrs. Miller, The Story of the Last Chrysanthemum, Blood Simple, and Woman in the Dunes.

I think I'm going to hold out a couple weeks until the B&N sale and pick them up myself. My experiences with Criterion's shipping have been mixed unfortunately. Most of my selection will be the same as yours.

Most of my selection will be the same as yours. I haven't had too many bad experiences with Criterion's shipping. Have definately had problems with B&N's stocking. Also I'm real close to having enough points for another $50 gift certificate from criterion.

I'm very tempted, shipping to Canada does nullify a lot of the savings, still tempted to pick up at least one though.

Word on the street is that the semi-annual Barnes and Noble 50% off sale starts tomorrow. I haven't seen any official announcement but I reserved my copies of McCabe and Mrs. Miller and Blood Simple just in case. I'm hoping to snag Akira Kurosawa's Dreams and Lone Wolf and Cub as they're released in the middle of it.
