Jibbs Doomsday Dracula SnoBorderZero WyldstaarYahoo U.K. interviewed the editors and they revealed SOME of the changes they made after the reshoots. The original cut went from Jyn as a child to Jyn meeting the Rebels. I'm talking about the infamous "I rebel" scene from the trailer that apparently everyone complained about. So those opening scenes where they're jumping between different planets and characters were reshoots. So, basically, they gave fans MORE stuff to complain about. I think almost everyone thought the beginning of the movie was garbage. Also, the original cut was edited like a Star Wars movie with the wipes and all the editing techniques associated with the series. So people complaining that Rogue One doesn't feel right can blame the reshoots. Finally, the third act was radically different. They didn't reveal the changes made to it in fear of Disney's lawyers. So one can conclude the reshoots were mainly about the ending and there is indeed an alternate version of the movie floating around. So what happened? Did the characters live? Was Darth Vader not there? Did they bring another actor back from the dead? Hopefully they'll answer these questions when the blu-ray is released.

Gareth Edwards told Empire there was an opening crawl in the script.

I saw this on Sunday and after letting it sink in a bit I thought it was...okay. It's a much darker, more bleak Star Wars movie which works sometimes. I liked the action and it was tense at times but when you strip the Star Wars title away that's really what it is, an action movie with pretty standard stock characters (even in a galaxy far, far away it's the Asian guy who knows martial arts). I was pretty impressed by what they did with Peter Cushing and the facial replacement which still makes me wonder how they botched Carrie Fisher so badly at the end.

From what we know, the third act was mostly reshoots. They didn't have time (or money) to get Carrie Fisher right. But there's always Episode 9.

They are probably going to wait 20 years and do a Rogue One Special Edition like all good Star Wars movies. Depends what you consider makes a title official. The in-movie title card just says "Rogue One" but it's being advertised as "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story." I'm not sure which title was registered for copywrite. I know that IMDB generally uses the title card as their standard (hence they call the movie Sunset Boulevard "Sunset Blvd") but I don't know why the mobile version would be different. As for The Avengers. I believe that was officially called "Marvel's The Avengers" in the U.S. order to give it a distinct trademark from the TV show but I'm guessing the title card just says The Avengers. In the U.K. I'm guessing they wanted to distinguish it even further from the TV show. I thought of a good way to find the official UK title of the movie. I looked up The BBFC website. If anyone is going to know the name it would be them. They have it listed as ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY [2D].

I know that I shouldn't really be bothered by other people's views of movies and I know that I should just let people enjoy the movies they enjoy. But every time I hear someone say that Rogue One is the best Star Wars movie they've seen, it drives me up the wall.

I don't know a single person who says Rogue One is the best. And calling Skyfall the best lasted a minute and then everyone remembered Casino Royale.

Skyfall is better than Rogue One, bit neither are the best of their franchise.

A couple of my coworkers were talking about how Rogue One was way better than The Empire Strikes Back, that it was easily the best Star Wars ever. Trust me when I say that it took every ounce of me not to explode.

Who the fuck are these people? It was universally agreed upon:
Original Trilogy Disney Prequels
The only debate was: Force Awakens or Rogue One

Sure it wasn't the best Star Wars but it was far the worst.

Whenever anyone claims that I think of cats who are attracted to shiny, new objects.
