My question for you all: considering how poorly received this was are you still going to invest your time/money in Justice League? Doubt I will to be honest. Luckily I only wasted my time on Batman v Superman.

My movie tastes do not outweigh my social life. This is Dracula 's argument as well. You wanna be part of "the conversation."

At this point I'd be happy with Micheal Bay directing Justice League. Atleast he can make exciting action look fun and exciting...

Nah, I have it sitting on my computer but I can't bring myself to watch a damn 3 hour movie that I'll probably hate.

I mean, I generally do try to avoid seeing any piece of crap just because everyone else is flocking to it, but when it comes to superhero movies my resistance is weak for some reason.

I got the Ultimate Edition for my birthday yesterday. I'm actually pretty excited to watch the 3-hour cut.
And as for Justice League, my excitement level for it hasn't changed. I'm still genuinely looking forward to it, as I am with Wonder Woman.

I committed 3 hours to this....and...it wasn't wasted.
There was a deep movie hidden away and two actors who wanted to bring the gravitas that the occasion deserved.
They failed, because it was just too messy. I did not click with the new Lois, i don't know why - I just don't. And it feels like she's gonna be a major part of the DC cinematic universe. Yay... She's just NOT Lois Lane.
Affleck was in another world. As was Irons. You could tell they were so eager to respect and equal the last Batman.
Jesse? I actually liked him at times. But he was too Joker-ish. We've got a Joker coming guys! We don't need a fucking substitute!
Doomsday...well....toilet.
Wonder Woman was great. She may save this whole fucking shitstorm.
The flashbacks were so random, I get it as a geeky fan but 90% of your viewership is just gonna think you're weird, Zach!
What happened to him, man.
Dawn of the Dead 300 Watchmen
Dude was on a roll..... makes me sad to think about the lost EPIC potential.
Too many yes men? There must be a reason.

The ultimate edition is an improvement over the theatrical cut. Plots and characters are fleshed out and made coherent. But... it's still a misguided project. It's a Superman sequel, a Batman movie and a Justice League set-up. Too much shit is happening.

Dawn of the Dead, 300 and Watchmen were all adaptations of specific works that were well written, and loaned themselves well to Snyder's style (especially 300). His work on mainstream DC properties haven't been adaptations of any story in particular, and were written by the ever inept David Goyer. Since Goyer is the type of writer who will throw in a scene that doesn't make the slightest bit of sense just to provide Snyder an opportunity to include a visual he wants (Clark in a church by a stained glass window of Jesus wearing a red cape, Superman being dragged down into a pile of human skulls, Superman in a crucifixion pose, etc), he would qualify as a Yes Man in my book.

Are DC trapped now with ZS? How far must he fail before they cut the cord?

Are DC trapped now with ZS? How far must he fail before they cut the cord? Well, pre-production of Justice League had already started by the time it became clear that BvS wasn't going to pan out, so WB was stuck with Snyder for that project. Replacing him wasn't an option at that point. Moving forward though, I wouldn't be surprised if Zack were to announce that he's decided that he's told all the stories in the DCCU he's interested in telling, and is moving on to other projects. That's what they usually say when the studio tells them they're done. In the case of ZS, it won't be a potential end of his career the way it is with Josh Trank. ZS has proven he's capable of making a fun movie when teamed up with a writer who understands the material and what the director wants to put on the screen. He just needs to be on projects that keep him tightly focused on a strong but simple narrative. When this is done, you get 300. When you let Snyder have free reign, you wind up with Sucker Punch.

Alright, I watched the 3 hour extended edition. I suppose it's because my expectations were so low but I didn't hate the movie. All the criticisms are absolutely dead on but I found myself thinking some of the action was pretty cool and like everyone else I was surprised by how much I enjoyed Batfleck. But as stated by others this movie is pretty messed up. The plot is nonsensical, Lois Lane like in Man of Steel is there for no reason and is paper thin and Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor is just awful. I don't blame him, I blame the people who cast him and the material he was given. It was as if they said 'we want to see a Lex Luthor/Joker mashup' and got just that. And Doomsday, my namesake, don't get me started on him. At least we got cuts to the war room that was put there for blatant exposition before the President orders a nuclear strike on Superman and Doomsday in about 8 seconds. Gotta love dem tropes! Anyways, just like Spider-Man 3 it's a movie that by any standard is bad but with rock bottom expectations you can salvage something from it. I can understand why this movie was so savaged critically but I can also understand how it made as much money as it did.
The things I would do to Gal Gadot though, ohh mama....

Finally watched this movie. Meh. Could just never get into it. And Batman turned to Superman's side, like, really fast and easy. And since when do they both have parents named Martha? Did I just never notice that?
Cool final fight, though.

I was wondering the same. Was the fact that both moms are Martha something that I just didn't know and everyone else did? It was kinda spoiled for me though because they made fun of it in the Honest Trailers video.

Bruce's parents have always been Thomas and Martha Wayne.
