We can criticize Marvel for producing factory-made movies but at least their superheroes can co-exist in the same film, share the spotlight and be part of a coherent story. Zack Snyder doesn't possess those abilities. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is a giant mess. It's 4 blockbusters competing for screen time. It's a Batman feature, a Superman sequel, a Batman & Superman team-up and a prequel to the Justice League. It's no surprise that most critics hated it. But will fanboys and the general public share that opinion? Doubtful. To give Snyder credit, these 4 movies work individually. When Ben Affleck is kicking ass, you'll love it. When Henry Cavill is making out with a naked Amy Adams in a bathtub, you'll anticipate the R rated version. When Batman and Superman finally get into a fight, the fanboy or fangirl in you will have a giant smile on their face. When Woman Woman shows up and that Hans Zimmer score is blasting through the speakers, the entire audience will erupt into cheers and applause - trust me. This is a movie that's the very definition of a guilty pleasure. It's absolutely awful and there are a million things to complain about, especially the entire ending which is a complete disaster and makes The Amazing Spider-Man 2 look like a masterpiece, but man, it is so much fun to watch. I seriously can't wait to watch it again and hate myself afterwards. So fuck you, Zack Snyder. And fuck you, Christopher Nolan, for agreeing to an executive producer credit. How dare you attach your name to this garbage? And fuck the side of me that loved watching this trainwreck. I guess I'll enjoy almost anything that has Batman in it.

Here I assumed that Marvel Fans would beat up this movie and now I know why DC Has the problems. DC fans are there own enemies. You basicaly say you liked certain things and from all previews and early assumptions those were gonna be what most people liked and yet you hated the movie which you are saying your whole review is a contradiction.
No wonder DC fans and DC films cant win when the Fans dont know what they want anyways. I myself and neither a Marvel or DC Nut so maybe that is why i am sleeping just fine and will be able to go to both civil war and B V S and eat my pop corn and not die of massive freak out. Its simple I will hope for a good movie wither its Marvel or DC. Being I liked Watchmen, 300, And Man Of Steel and all of Marvels MCU but Ant Man I think it will be a good time at the movies for me.
Here is my message too DC fans if hate this hope for a new director for the future until then I guess will just have to rewatch Nolan Batman Movies and Supermans 1 and 2 again.

This makes me wonder how this will bode for the rest of the upcoming DC films. Undoubtedly they will still be made and stick to their timeframes but it's obvious not nearly as many people are enjoying these movies as they had hoped which will of course affect box office returns for each subsequent film. That and who wants to see a woman superhero amiright???

They are shooting for the Micheal Bay/Transformers crowd. Trust me on this... It will be a huge hit with the main audience.
SO will "Justice League" it will hit a billion in B.O. Revenue because that crowd only cares about the explosions and effects and not story.

This makes me wonder how this will bode for the rest of the upcoming DC films. One of the biggest issues with the movie is the way it sets up the Justice League. It literally feels like we're dropped in the middle of a movie. Lex Luthor has secret files on meta-humans, not to be confused with the ones in The Flash TV series, and the movie never tells us how the fuck he even knew that meta-humans existed. Then there's Bruce Wayne who keeps having these ridiculous and totally random nightmares. Some of it even appears in the trailers and TV spots, so I'm not spoiling anything. By the looks of it, they seem to take place in an alternate universe - meaning that The Flash is already time traveling and creating the multi-verse. That's fine and all, but that's literally what's going on in the TV series. So is the movie universe literally gonna do the same exact storyline or are they opening the gates for the movie and TV universe to cross paths with each other. Unless you're a super geek, a lot of this stuff is gonna confuse audiences. It also explains why so many critics were "bored" by the movie. They didn't know what the fuck was going on. So there is A LOT of holes that the Justice League movie is gonna need to fill. If they make a Ben Affleck Batman movie, it'll make a billion dollars. Seriously. He's that fucking awesome. His Bruce Wayne is terrible. I actually think he was better as Daredevil. But his Batman is amazing. Granted, most of the credit goes to the stunt team, the fight choreographers and the special effects crew, but still, you'll love every second that Batman is on screen. My ONLY issue with his Batman is that his story didn't make sense. Apparently, he's been Batman for 20 years - meaning he was Batman during the Val Kilmer and George Clooney era - but it didn't feel that way. Where's Commissioner Gordon? Where are all the villains, besides the Suicide Squad? Why do the cops still hate Batman? Why are people still scared of Batman? Why is Gotham City still so crime ridden? If Ben Affleck has been Batman for 20 years, shouldn't the streets be cleaner and his public relations be better? Wonder Woman is one of the highlights of the movie. I'm not entirely sold on Gal Gadot. Her acting isn't very good. But she has great screen presence and handled herself well in the action scenes. It reminded me of Scarlett Johansson in Iron Man 2.

I think Wonder Woman and Suicide Squad will be thee saving Graces DC. I think David Ayer if Suicide Squad Does Good should be offered The Batman solo movie so it kinda match since Ben will be appearing In Suicide Squad.
I also think Green Lantern has Potential If They Learned from there mistakes. Aquaman and Be Good as well. It basically all seems too stink around Superman and Snyder.

Holy crap Neverending was right https://www.reddit.com/r/movies/comments/4bq3y1/fake_or_purchased_imdb_accounts_are_rating_batman/ take a look at the user review page: www.imdb.com/title/tt2975590/reviews?ref_=tt_urv Wow that's some pretty far out claims from people. "A new Era of Comic Book Movies, Batman V Superman Surpases All Expectations" "The best superhero movie of all time" "A complete package" "Amazed, Favourite superhero film of this year." Bloody hell, the year hasn't even finished yet! Taking a look strictly at the 10/10 and 9/10 accounts, you can clearly see they are tons that are only a few days old with only the one movie review under their belts. I won't spam you with all the user account links, but here's an example of what I mean: www.imdb.com/user/ur65929724/I mean look, maybe this film is just that amazing and everyone rushed home to make an IMDB account to tell everyone, I won't judge until I see the film tonight but I mean, I don't think I've ever known someone to do that...

"A ponderous, smothering, over-pixelated zeppelin crash of a movie scored by a choir that sounds like it's being drowned in lava."
Ouch.

Batman Vs. Superman - ReviewThis is a mess... Where to begin? At least Man of Steel had a thought out story... This? I feel like they tried to combine 4 movies together... Batman origins and story, Superman: and the trail, Wonder woman and the gathering of heroes, Batman and the future stuff, and of course Doomsday and the death scene of Superman I felt if they had just stuck to Batman Vs. Superman it would have been fine. But we have the problem and curse of Spider-Man 3 and X-Men: The Last Stand. Over bloated story and over the top action/special effects... Also by the way LEX Luthor is horribly cast and annoying as Hell. The only thing I liked was his little speech at the top of Lex Tower?? I think when he was explaining his plan to Superman. Other then that... Totally mis cast. Also Dooms looks like a piece of turd that I took that came to life??? I mean what the hell? Now to what works. -Jeremy Irons as Alfred well really well cast and he had some great scenes. - Ben Affleck as Batman pretty much stole the show... He's a great Bruce Wayne and I'm surprised how good he was. His standalone action scene with the criminals was great - The 5 minute fight between Batman/Superman was decent. Anyways I still can't believe they handed a Hack like Snyder a project of this monument. They should have stopped him after "Man of Steel" and handed to a better director... He ruined a child hood story of mine, I dreamt of seeing this for 20+ years on the big screen. Batman uses guns and kills people? what the hell? so many dumb choices in this film. That alone killed the entire film for me. Batman hates guns because his parents died from guns. He's going around killing people? WTF Snyder... do you even know these characters or do you do whatever the hell you want that you think is cool... 5/10

I guess I'm Dracula this time. People were talking so much shit after tonight's screening. Zack Snyder really wasn't the guy to bring Superman back to the big screen. Everyone hates what he's done with the character. I wonder if Warner Bros regrets not sticking with Bryan Singer. People had issues with Superman Returns but not necessarily the characters or the people involved. If they had given him a second chance, and if he had toned down the Donner worship, it could have worked.

I Just Got home an hour ago from seeing the movie. I never see a Comic Book Movie ever on a thursday night but The Movie Started At 8:15 and after the movie had too went too an open all night Super Walmart too get stuff too make Hoagies.
I have had time to digest what i saw and think if i had not had time too think it could be a very very mean post. But my head has leveled out and I figured out something. I must be a secret Batman fan because my stomach felt all messed up. I have not felt like this since Batman and Robin was released.
Ok lets talk about what I liked or in other words what worked. Gal Gadot Worked her tale of too try and be the balanced hero the DC fans have been waiting for. She will have a great Franchise for DC. Jeremy Irons As Alfred was how Alfred should be and thats in the whole mess with Bruce. Love Micheal Caine but Irons Alfred was my favorite one. I hate Ben Affleck But he nailed Batman as well as could be done. But I was kinda distracted how kinda bloated looking he looked in his regular bat suit and yet when he is Bruce Wayne he doesnt look chunky. Liked the while fight sequence with iron batman. Doomsday Was Not as bad as people are saying. He just looks allot like Abomination.
Mod Edit
Anyways The movie was overall just a C and should have and could have been an A movie up there with Avengers 1. Wonder Women and Irons Save the movie enough. But X-Men Apocolypse and Civil War can beat this in there sleep.
6.5/10

I'll try to post a review later but in short: I hated Lex, the editing and pacing was messy at times, the action was pretty awesome, we owe Ben Affleck a HUGE apology, Wonder Woman!! and I appreciated the ideas and themes they presented in the story.
B- ish...

B- ish... Opinions on Lex Luthor are incredibly mixed. It's a love it or hate it situation. Although I will agree that the writing was very sloppy. From the meta-human surveillance that had no set-up to the Doomsday shenanigans that was really stupid, they really had no idea what to do with Luthor.

RedVader , not only did you post a massive spoiler but you didn't even change it when sshutari pointed it out. Personally I don't give two shits about this movie so I don't care but somebody easily could have caught it. You've been warned about this, several times in fact. Take the week off and go catch up on Daredevil.

Smug and self-important would be my short, three-word summary of Batman vs Superman. Just like 2013's Man of Steel, this movie had promise, but simply did not deliver. From the desaturated colour palate to the pretentious dialogue, this movie took its self way, way too seriously.
Right off the bat (pun not intended), Zach Snyder a bunch of borrowed ideas and imagery, right down to Mama Wayne's pearl necklace, and thinks that its okay because its all in slow-motion and more artistic. Sure we've seen boy Bruce surrounded by bats before, but its okay to do it again because this time they're making him fly through symbolism! And these borrowed ideas continue, even having Batman get his car stolen from a party by a woman who would end up becoming his ally. Even the Harry Potter wand battles are borrowed from.
We are thrown right into the ending of Man of Steel, this time from Bruce Wayne's perspective. Then we go to Lois Lane in the desert for some reason, then Lex Luthor doing stuff, then Superman doing stuff,... the whole story is very fragmented and shoddily edited together. It is constantly jumping storylines in a way which make the seams very apparent. And then out of the blue we get some sort of doomsday prophesy and a time traveler showing up? C'mon! No cohesion whatsoever. A mess, one might say.
I liked Ben Affleck taking up the bat suit, and I liked Wonder Woman quite a bit (despite her addition being entirely extraneous). I didn't care for Jesse Eisenberg as Lex though, Henry Cavill was just there, and Jeremy Irons never felt like he was in the same movie.
The visuals of this movie were completely ruined by the choice, once again, to go almost grey throughout the whole thing. Not to mention they went a little far with the religious imagery (both visually and in the writing). Man, did they ever miss the mark with Superman here.
And then finally, once it seems to be over with the prolonged action set pieces (the only interesting one being the actual fight between Supes and Bats), we get an almost Return of the King ending which feels like it takes another half hour to conclude. Not to mention the desperation to turn this into DC's avengers by hinting at a further storyline. Honestly, that scene with Lex in the jail cell was so tacked on it was eye rolling.
Sorry DC comics. It was a nice idea, but poorly executed. Too long, too full of itself, too disjointed, too joyless. 4/10

Guess I'm in the minority on this one, too. Does it have problems? Yes, no getting around that. But it's all going to come down to the degree to which the film's issues bother you. For me, they didn't detract from it enough to affect my enjoyment of the film. What this movie does right, it does REALLY right (Ben, sorry I ever doubted you) and I found myself involved enough in the film where I can forgive its faults. In many ways, I prefer Man of Steel, but Dawn of Justice gave me what I wanted at the end of the day. Bring on the other DC films!
Haven't really settled on a star rating yet.
