Ah, of course. Can't sully the collection. I bought Assassin's Creed so I could do that video on it and The Matrix and now it sits in a separate box with a bunch of other dvds and blu-rays I plan to trade in at the used movies store. I will say, if The Snyder Cut somehow beats the odds and ends up being collection worthy I might buy BvS so as not to have a gap between it and MoS... if I can find a cheap copy. If I were a betting man, I'd put my money on you not having to make extra room in your shelf. Apparently Joker doesn't even say "We live in a society" in the movie. How good can it be?

I'm putting the odds at about 5%... which is probably too generous.

I proudly own the Ultimate Cut, however, and will be watching for my third time overall very soon in preparation for the Snyder Cut. Re-watched Man of Steel last weekend, too. I own almost every comic book/superhero related film of note that's available, and I still don't own any version of BvS. I'll pick it up eventually, but it's an extremely low priority. Popeye (1980) and Captain America (1979) were more immediate concerns than BvS.

Robin Williams was so hopped up on drugs that he wouldn't even remember making the bloody movie by the time he sobered up.

I love Man of Steel probably as much as Dracula does, but I thought this kinda sucked. More to come, but what it comes down to is the film is overstuffed and underdeveloped. Bad movie. I won't be defending this one... much. There's a good movie buried in there somewhere but it's being pulled in a million directions and the script completely lets it down. There are some solid moments along the way that kind of make it worth seeing for the hardcore who are willing to sort through the mess but that isn't enough to make up for its many many many shortcomings. Watchmen > Daredevil > Batman v Superman > Man of Steel Search your feelings. You know it to be true. I dusted off my Watchmen: Director's Cut Blu-Ray. I got it for $5 at Best Buy. It's a steelbook, IanTheCool. The total runtime is 3 hours and... 4 minutes? Honestly, it didn't make much of a difference. I know Doomsday is a Watchmen hater. Dracula and SnoBorderZero will recall the infamous Watchmen thread at the old CS! that was filled with so much trolling that Frizzo had to shut it down. I wasn't part of that. I liked the movie - I just didn't love it - and the director's cut actually made things worse. The theatrical version, in spite of its flaws, had a semi tight story. This 3 hour cut is so unfocused that characters disappear from the film for long stretches of time. The "villain" is practically nonexistent and Rorschach, arguably the best character in Watchmen, loses the spotlight to Nite Owl and Silk Spectre. Dr. Manhattan is the only character unaffected. If anything, the Director's Cut helps him. Those extra minutes do add to his emotional arc. So with the Batman vs Superman director's cut around the corner, it's possible that PG Cooper is right. It might not matter. If it's anything like Watchmen, it won't be more story or better story. It might just be more scenes of Batman and Superman doing stuff. I'll still watch it, but it's obvious that Zack Snyder isn't a storyteller. He's just a glorified cinematographer. No Batgirl movie, but this, yes.

I remember when Watchmen was a somewhat obscure property that only comic book fans knew about. I miss that.
