At $613 million, Spider-Man: No Way Home is now the 10th highest grossing movie of all-time. A movie release in the midsts of a pandemic. Where’s my PG Cooper video essay??

That fire movie was terrible. The sprint across the field with lightning... Ugh.

Take these numbers with a grain of salt but... Wish they had the numbers on there for Dune and Matrix. Those are the two I elected to see in theaters instead.

In classic Dracula fashion, he underestimated Sing 2. In its 4th weekend of release, Spider-Man: No Way Home grossed $33M. Its domestic total is $668.7M. Worldwide it’s $1.5 Billion. Meanwhile, Doomsday’s feminist propaganda the 355 flopped at the box office. Shit like that gets theatrical distribution but not Pixar? Bullshit says PG Cooper. Opening next weekend is Scream 5. Will it dethrone Spidey? Or will the webhead continue to thrive?

After two weeks of release, The Batman has grossed $263.2M domestically and approximately $510.7M worldwide. Uncharted with Tom Holland and Marky Mark has been out for a month. It has grossed $117.8M domestic and about $305.7M worldwide. It’s not Spider-Man numbers but at least it’s not Chaos Walking either. Poor Daisy Ridley. Maybe she’ll end up voicing Harley Quinn in a Batman cartoon. Scream 5 has quietly made $81M domestically and $139.5M worldwide. Can always count on horror to make the quick buck. Now that we’re caught up, Jujutsu Kaisen was released this weekend. I don’t know what the fuck that is, and there’s no PG Cooper video essay to educate me, but it seems like it’ll do respectable business. It’s not Demon Slayer — but Demon Slayer came out towards the end of the pandemic and anime nerds were eager to leave their basements.

SnoBorderZero’s The Lost City, starring Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum (and Brad Pitt), opened to $31M this Academy Awards weekend. While Hollywood celebrates the mediocrity of 2021, audiences welcome back the movie stars of the 1990’s. Close by at #2 is The Batman with $20.5M. Its 4-week total is $331.9M. Can always count on the Caped Crusader to put butts in the seats. There’s no doubt that donny and 1godzillafan left the house this weekend as RRR: Rise, Roar, Revolt debut at #3 with $9.5M. Can’t wait till Doomsday and Dracula watch it in the Film Club. In related news, PG Cooper’s favorite movie of 2021, Spider-Man: No Way Home reached $800M in North America. A movie that was released as the dust settled in the pandemic is now the 3rd highest grossing film of all-time. It beat Avatar! Remember when Tenet was supposed to rescue cinema? Good times. Opening next weekend is the long awaited Morbius starring Academy Award winner Jared Leto of Suicide Squad and House of Gucci fame. I hear it has not one but two scenes with Michael Keaton. We’ve been blessed.

Morbius opened to $39M. 1godzillafan & SnoBorderZero couldn’t quite get that extra million. Let’s see if they do better next week with Sonic.

To the great joy of SnoBorderZero and 1godzillafan, Sonic 2 opened at #1 to a whopping $71M at the North American box office. They have been blessed with a Sonic 3 , sources at Paramount have revealed. Michael Bay’s Ambulance flopped, debuting at #4 with $8.7M. That’s what happens when you hurt your brand making shitty Transformers movies for 10 years. Doomsday does better at the box office than Michael Bay. What a time to be alive. Morbius dropped to #2 with $10.2M. Two week total is $57M. It ain’t no Venom. Opening next weekend is Fantastic Beast Part 3. Does anyone give a fuck? Let’s ask PhantomKnight. Can you imagine if Sonic outgrosses Harry Potter?! This is the anarchy Dracula lives for.

Northman with a paltry 12 million, double that for worldwide gross.
Woof
Eggers was prob not the guy to give that large of a budget to. And they prob won't give him one again for a long time.

DreamWorks’ The Bad Guys opened at #1 with $24M. Sonic at #2 with $15.2M and $145.8M domestic total. Fantastic Beasts at #3 with $14M and $67.1M total. Northman with $12M and Nick Cage with $7.1M. Everything Everywhere All At Once still hanging around with $5.4M and $26.9M.
Exciting times at the movies. We basically back. There’s even a Liam Neeson movie opening next week.

While Dracula bitches about kids movies, they dominate the North American box office on the eve of Doctor Strange’s release. DreamWorks’ Bad Guys is #1 for a 2nd straight weekend with $16.1M and a total gross of $44.4M. Sonic has hung around all month. It is #2 with $11.3M and has a 4-week total of $160.9M. Fantastic Beasts is #3 with $8.3M and has a 3-week total of $79.5M. But it is not all doom & gloom. At 4 through 6 are Northman, Everything Everywhere All At Once and the Nick Cage movie. They’ve all been doing pretty well and prove there’s room for grown-up movies at the multiplex. They even beat the new Liam Neeson movie! Doctor Strange opens on Thursday and that’s all we’ll hear about for the next 2 or 3 weeks. So savor this moment where other movies share the spotlight.

I’m not a monster. I’m a mother!
It was a successful Mother’s Day weekend at the box office. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness kicked off the summer movie season with $187.4M domestically and $448.8M worldwide.
Opening this Thursday is Firestarter, based on the Stephen King novel.
