Hey... Game night wasn't bad at all. Hell I enjoyed it.
Solid second place finish. Really hope they don't try a sequel though.

Thus continues Disney's bizarre losing streak when putting out live-action movies outside of their existing brands. If it's lucky it should outgross Tomorrowland.

Disney is dumping those type of movies on their streaming service. They literally just wiped all their “non-brand” stuff off the theatrical release schedule.

Doomsday Dracula PG Cooper WyldstaarBlack Panther became the first movie since Avatar to spend 5 weeks at #1. It has reached $600 million domestically. It’s on pace to surpass Avengers as Marvel’s highest grossing movie domestically. Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle became the first Jumanji to gross $400 million domestically. It’s only $13 million away from surpassing Wonder Woman in the 2017 box office. Tomb Raider underperformed this weekend, but religious film I Can Only Imagine and gay teen movie Love Simon did respectful for small budget counter programming. Opening next weekend are Pacific Rim and Sherlock Gnomes.

A Quiet Place was loud at the box office, grossing $50 million in its opening weekend. Steven Spielberg & Doomsday's Ready Player One dropped to #2, making $25 million, rising its domestic total to $96.9 million, a Spielberg high for this day and age. And the movie known as Operation: Chicken Container in Taiwan debut at #3 with $21.4 million. In other news, Black Panther surpassed Titanic at the all-time box office. It's now the 3rd highest grossing movie ever. Next weekend, Isle of Dogs expands nationwide. Blumhouse's latest, Truth or Dare, opens. But the real story is: will The Rock replicate the success of Jumanji with Rampage?

But the real story is: will The Rock replicate the success of Jumanji with Rampage? Um, no.. Rampage could very well manage to be a success at the box office, but there's no way it's going to be as successful as Jumanji. Rampage has two weeks to make it's money before being utterly crushed by The Avengers.

The Rock returns to the #1 spot at the box office, this time with Rampage grossing $34.5 million in its opening weekend. Close behind at #2 is A Quiet Place with $32.6 million and a two-week total of $99.6 million. The movie did particularly well on Friday the 13th and seemed like it would top the weekend but fans of The Rock showed up on Saturday & Sunday.

Ouch. The Rock is going to have to rely on the foreign market to save this one.

No it won't, it has it's goal for the movie this weekend. They knew what kind of opening it was going to have and the legs are staying strong in that position for Rampage.

Infinity War made 105 million on Friday (domestic). That pushed Disney over the billion dollar mark for 2018 after just 117 days, breaking their own 2016 record for fastest studio to a billion in 128 days.

Weekend estimates are in. Avengers: Infinity War opened to $250 million, surpassing Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The question now is, will it have the same legs? Force Awakens ended up making $936 million domestically. Could we have the first movie to make $1 billion in the U.S.? Remember 10 years ago when Dark Knight made $533 million domestically and people thought that was insane? We’ve come a long way.
