Good news, SnoBorderZero ! The Martian is #1 again. It has grossed $108.7 million domestically in the two weeks of release. Bad news, SnoBorderZero! Adam Sandler's Hotel Transylvania 2 is #2 at the box office this weekend. It has grossed $116.8 million in three weeks of release. The Walk flopped, by the way. And so did Pan. Opening on Friday is Steven Spielberg's Bridge of Spies, Guillermo Del Toro's Crimson Peak and Jack Black's Goosebumps. Meanwhile, Steve Jobs is expanding into more theaters. Check your local listings.

It was a slow weekend at the box office. It was so slow that the movie Doomsday and SnoBorderZero are working on will look like a huge hit by comparison. Sony Pictures' bullshit Goosebumps movie was #1 with $23.5 million. They're expecting it to have "legs". Yeah right. Steven Spielberg's Bride of Spies opened at #3 with $15.3 million. That's respectable for an Oscar bait movie. And Crimson Peak, made by Dracula 's favorite director, Guillermo Del Toro flopped at #4 with $12.8 million. Has Del Toro ever had a box office hit? Besides Blade II?

Pacific Rim was a hit... in China... The guy is a cult figure, you compare his box office output to the James Cameron's of the world and he's not going to measure up but you compare him to someone like Eli Roth or Rob Zombie and he comes out more favorably. Anyway, Crimson Peak is in the low 60s on RT so maybe this will be a wake up call. Dude hasn't made anything great since Hellboy 2. He needs to put up or shut up.

So basically no one liked Timothy Dalton, liked Brosnan, and REALLY like Daniel Craig. I hope Spectre does big business.

liked Brosnan and REALLY like Daniel Craig. Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig are neck and neck. The culture of opening weekends has changed a lot in 20 years. If you look at the total box office numbers, they're very comparable. 1. Thunderball - $623.8 million 2. Goldfinger - $552.9 million 3. Skyfall - $315.6 million 4. You Only Live Twice - $299.4 million 5. Moonraker - $233.6 million 6. Die Another Day - $230 million 7. Tomorrow Never Dies - $224.4 million 8. From Russia With Love - $222.3 million 9. Diamonds are Forever - $221.4 million Jibbs10. Casino Royale - $212 million 11. The World Is Not Enough - $207.2 million 12. GoldenEye - $203.5 million 13. Quantum of Solace - $195.5 million 14. Octopussy - $179.7 million 15. The Spy Who Loved Me - $175.1 million 16. Live and Let Die - $166.6 million 17. For Your Eyes Only - $164.4 million 18. Dr. No - $157.6 million 19. Never Say Never Again - $146.7 million 20. On Her Majesty's Secret Service - $133.7 million 21. A View to a Kill - $118.2 million 22. The Living Daylights - $109.1 million 23. The Man With The Golden Gun - $93.5 million 24. License to Kill - $72.8 million PhantomKnightThe success rank for the actors would be, as of now, 1. Sean Connery 2. Pierce Brosnan 3. Daniel Craig 4. Roger Moore 5. George Lazenby 6. Timothy Dalton Craig will probably equal or surpass Brosnan with Spectre, but they'll still be neck and neck.

Poor Dalton, he was so misunderstood. I liked him as Bond. Timothy Dalton had the opposite experience of Pierce Brosnan. His timing was terrible. Originally, he was offered the role of James Bond in 1968, during pre-production of On Her Majesty's Secret Service. He turned them down because he felt he was too young for the role. Then, they offered him the role again for Live and Let Die but turned it down because, after George Lazenby's failure, he thought no one could replace Sean Connery. Then he had the misfortune of following Roger Moore, which was not a good idea at all. You don't follow one extreme with another. That's why Pierce Brosnan was the perfect choice to replace Roger Moore. He could be WAY more serious than Roger Moore, but he could also be just as silly. He didn't alienate the fans of the time. Timothy Dalton should have maned up and accepted the role in 1968. He was better suited for On Her Majesty's Secret Service than The Living Daylights, which was a script written specifically for Pierce Brosnan and his style. Even if audiences had rejected Timothy Dalton in On Her Majesty's Secret Service, like they did with George Lazenby, it wouldn't have mattered because On Her Majesty's Secret Service is already considered a classic in spite of George Lazenby. Imagine the movie with Timothy Dalton. It would have been the true rival to Goldfinger that some fans want it to be. The Living Daylights and License to Kill are not classics AT ALL. He fucked up. It's that simple.

Yeah, Dalton in that movie would've worked really well actually, especially considering they were planning a revenge sequel for it afterwards. I didn't realize he was wanted for the role so long ago, I always figured he was just thrown in there in 1987 because Brosnan wasn't available and that's it.

Yeah, Dalton in that movie would've worked really well actually, especially considering they were planning a revenge sequel for it afterwards. I didn't realize he was wanted for the role so long ago, I always figured he was just thrown in there in 1987 because Brosnan wasn't available and that's it. He played King Philip in The Lion in Winter, which was an Academy Award winning movie. That put him in the radar of the James Bond producers, but he was only like 23 or 24 at the time. He was right. He was WAY too young for the role. But so what? They ultimately hired George Lazenby, an Australian model whose only acting experience was in TV commercials. Dalton was the better option. Then he did Wuthering Heights and Mary Queen of Scots, an Academy Award nominated movie. That got the James Bond producers attention again and they offered him Live and Let Die. He turned them down because he was scared off by George Lazenby's failure. They literally gave him two chances to make a name for himself as James Bond and he blew it. Instead, he waits until 1986, when the timing was awful, to finally accept the role. He should have been James Bond in 1969 or 1973. That was the ideal timing for him. Like I said, it's the opposite of Pierce Brosnan. Brosnan was offered James Bond in 1981 when his then-wife was a major co-star in For Your Eyes Only. Then, he's given the role in 1986 but had to turn it down. And finally, he's given the role again in 1994 and goes on to star in 4 successful movies. His timing was always perfect.
