Picked up the Firefly edition of Fluxx and Epic Spell Wars of the Battle Wizards: Duel at Mt. Skullfyre during International Tabletop Day.
I think that makes five different versions of Fluxx I own now.

Fluxx sounds interesting, I have about 6 decks of Munchkin card games and you can mix them together lol. More Chaos!!!
Last card game I bought is Joking Hazard based on the Happiness & Cyanide comic strips.

I just found out today that I'm going to have to learn how to the Halo Actionclix game that came out a few years ago. My nephew picked up a huge collection dirt cheap from the comics store. Hope it's good.

Last card game I bought is Joking Hazard based on the Happiness & Cyanide comic strips. Fluxx is easy to learn and you can mix them together like you do the Munchkin series for a lot more chaos. I was debating on Joking Hazard and now I wish I just picked it up when it came out.

The Duchess
A ridged gaming table for 4 to 6 people with a two sided removable/washable playing mat surface and 4 cup holders. It also has a cover to make it into a dinner table. You can get any of those features as options depending upon how much you spend.
It's pretty nice, I'm looking into this.

That's cool, I'm good with my table though. I always wonder if those cupholders wouldnt be more of a hindrance, caging you in.

Better to bump into a cup holder outside of the table than bumping into a cup on the table. Besides, you don't have to get that option if you don't want them. I like the table top because it looks like you can leave a long playing game like Flattop set up to finish later.

OK I just went all in on the Duchess table. Can't beat the price, seeing as they are normally anywhere from $1,000+ to $2,000+
$858 should be a good buy.

So a group of people are eventually going to do a kickstarter campaign for a board game bar in Kansas City. I know that there is one in Columbus, OH and it was awesome.

It works though. You pay $5 and can play all the games they have. I think it's better than a regular bar doing it. The atmosphere is like playing at your friends house than at a poorly lighted bar.

We almost got a board game bar here, but the funding fell through. They were gonna call it Dungeons and Flagons, a game I wasn't too fond of as it only promotes the really nerdy aspects of this hobby and would likely just reinforce stereotypes and turn people away.

That is a pretty cool concept. How many board game companies are going to allow their licensed products be available? I like having the real boards, they don't require an outlet to enjoy them. Plus why would I want to spend $20-$30 to buy the board game I already own again?

True there are some naysayers amongst the boardgame companies, but some can see the benefits in licencing their products. Especially when you have different versions and updates to additionally license. Figure makers will still be able to produce new figures for use, more game pieces and peripherals. Licencing will afford them more cash depending upon the contracts. As with any gaming product, sales eventually slow down and this could be another outlet to generate more revenue and interest.
In any case, it looks as though there are a lot of titles set to go already, and the makers are very open to community suggestions for other games people would like to see them try to licence.
I like playing the actual games too, but often time is all too short for set up, breakdown, and learning a particular complex game. This speeds those situations up.
This is also good for those times when people have the time to play, but can't be there in person. A lot of great games are just more fun with, or require more people to even begin to think about playing.
