Giant corporations don't leave money on the table. They'll continue to have cashiers for as long as it's profitable to do so. Even the self checkout areas have usually got a cashier assigned to them to deal with the little old ladies who think they know how to use it, but don't. Plus, computers can't check your ID to sell you beer.
As for McDonald's, I was in one of those last month, and there was no computer kiosk in it. Just a girl behind the counter, same as always. These things take time to roll out, since not every franchise owner can afford the upgrades.

computers can't check your ID to sell you beer. The machines won’t even sell it to you unless an employee approves it. when I have a cart full of groceries I'm going to want someone else to ring them all up and bag them. I agree 100%, but unfortunately, less cashiers means longer lines. That’s why I do my shopping when stores are their least crowded. Boomers that wake up with the roosters and have dinner at 4pm are most likely doing the same. Also, with Amazon testing their Instant Checkout (they own Whole Foods — friendly reminder) this may become a moot point. |

Cruel Intentions 2 was actually just three episodes of a proposed Network TV adaptation of the movie that got edited into a direct to video sequel when the show didn't get picked up. So, bad thing. |

I don't know what that means! Meaning that although it follows the exact same formula of its predecessor, it just doesn't have the same genuine heart or energy that made the original a classic, although it's still somewhat enjoyable. Think The Force Awakens. |
