The dude who owned that company when it sold to Mattel for $3.5 billion was Kevin O'Leary, the biggest asshole in Shark Tank.

Dracula Deexan This Chris Brown documentary is guaranteed to be a trainwreck. I don't know why musicians keep letting people make documentaries about them. Has anyone ever come off good in a "rockumentary"?

I just watched half of I Am Big Bird and then my internet connection died, but it was a really touching portrait of the puppeteer's life

Netflix has a documentary that I found fascinating
Helen: The Woman With 7 Personalities
The documentary film maker met up with a childhood friend she hadn't seen since the age of 16 and was astounded that her friend has Dissociative Identity Disorder. She never realized it when they were young because Helen hid it so well. The film is a journey into what it's like living with the disorder, and trying to figure out why it happened.
A very good documentary

Watched Bruce Lee, The Legend (1984). Yes, '84. It's listed as 1977 for some odd reason. Anyway, it was made by Golden Harvest, the studio behind all of Bruce Lee's movies, so it's a tad biased. Most of the focus is on Bruce Lee's film career, Raymond Chow, and Jackie Chan as the heir to Bruce Lee's throne. It simplifies Bruce Lee's philosophy and martial arts work, which is usually the theme of Bruce Lee documentaries. That might bother most fans but I find it interesting because it puts the spotlight on an aspect of Bruce Lee's life that is usually glossed over.
The documentary begins by going in-depth into Bruce Lee's career as a child actor. That was the most fascinating and informative part. I knew Bruce Lee's father was an actor and sometimes was featured in his movies, but I had assumed they were bit roles. He was like... the main actor sometimes.
Towards the middle it goes into detail about projects Bruce Lee was developing before Game of Death and Enter the Dragon. He was gonna make a movie with James Coburn. He wanted to play a samurai and a Chinese ancient warrior. They even show wardrobe tests that he did.
The documentary ends kind of sleazy. Apparently, Bruce Lee died in the house of his mistress and the cover the media storm surrounding that. I guess it commendable that everything about Bruce Lee wasn't sugarcoated but they interview his mistress and not his wife or any of his friends or family. It's literally just Raymond Chow, his mistress and some random people.
I don't know.
It's interesting.
Worth checking out , I think.

Doing a little research. So the movie Bruce Lee wanted to make with James Coburn ended up getting made by David Carradine. The fuck? Might as well spit in Bruce Lee's grave. The whole reason Bruce Lee went to Hong Kong is because he sold Kung Fu to ABC and they turned it into a show starring a white. PG Cooper , make a video essay about this. The millennials must know! They need something new to get outraged about.

I've seen that floating around, but haven't watched it yet. I'll take Jim Lee over Todd any day.

I think the Scott Peterson case could definately use a closer look. The evidence against that guy is really flimsy, Steven Avery looks like he was caught red handed by comparison. Scott Peterson? He went fishing the day his wife went missing and then body washed up right there days later. He showed zero emotions a vigils (and in fact told Frey he was in Paris over the phone while at the vigil) , zero interest in searching for her. There were many inconsistencies in his story to the police. He was also ready to sell her stuff including her car and the house like she was coming back . When the police arrested him he had gotten ready to escape by packing his car he bought in his mother's name. He told them he was on his way to play a round of golf with his father and brother, but this was what was in his car: approximately $15,000 in cash four cell phones multiple credit cards belonging to various members of his family an array of camping equipment, including knives, implements for warming food, tents and tarpaulins and a water purifier nine pairs of footwear (shoes, boots, flip flops) several changes of clothing a T-handled double-edged dagger a MapQuest map to Frey's workplace (printed the previous day) a shovel 2 ropes 200 blister packs of sleeping pills Viagra his brother's driver's license Some of those items were a kill kit for Amber Frey since she double crossed him with the police. His hair and goatee were also bleached blond. The said that that was because he went swimming in his neighbor's pool and the chlorine changed his hair, but that neighbor said Peterson had never been in his pool. There's a lot of circumstantial evidence and only a Hair they found on the boat, but the guy was acting shifty as a snake without the need to if he were innocent. Many trials don't have all the fancy forensic evidence that puts TV criminals away, but it's the preponderance of the evidence that puts most people away. It's at least more likely that he did it than not. Defense did not show a reasonable doubt , they hung their hat on the thought that a prostitute that stole some checks from the house killed Lacy, but the police never thought that, plus the checks were stolen after she was murdered. They also tried to get a forensic person to testify she died later than she did, but that also fell through. After watching A&E's Scott Peterson series, I agree with Dracula. Dude was Gone Girl'd. The media prosecuted Scott Peterson before the trial took place. If you read Ramplate's comments, or anyone's on the Internet, their knowledge is just media bullshit. There's ZERO evidence that Scott Peterson murdered his wife. They took this guy to trial and sentenced him to death based purely on the fact he was a serial cheater. What happened to Laci Peterson is quite simple. She was witness to a robbery across the street. Modesto, California is a shit-hole and there was a number of crimes in that neighborhood during the holidays. The neighbors across the street got robbed while Laci Peterson walked the dog and obviously kidnapped and murdered her. Further evidence to prove that is the fact that the fetus died on January 3rd. They only found Laci Peterson's torso, but they found the fetus intact, and based on its size, they knew exactly when it died and it was over a week after Laci Peterson went missing. This case was botched by the police, since they never followed up on the robbery across the street, and then the prosecution used the media to influence the jury. That jury had made up their mind before the trial even began.

I watched the Todd McFarlane "documentary" last week. It was interesting and informative, but the only aspects delved into involved things that would make Todd look good. There was zero mention of any of the shady shit he's gotten into, even when Todd talks about things that are directly contradicted by his own actions. It was very revealing when Todd mentioned his "enemies", as though normal people have actual enemies. I strongly suspect that everyone Todd considers to be his enemy doesn't actually give him the slightest thought.

Examples of shady things. Todd invited Neil Gaiman to write Spawn #9, in which Neil co-created the characters of Cagliostro, Angela and Medieval Spawn. Todd loved Neil's characters so much that after a few years of continuing to use the characters and paying Neil for his work in creating them, he decided that they weren't half Neil's anymore, but entirely his own. He tossed the entire creative ownership upon which Image Comics was founded (and upon which Neil's work was agreed to) out the window. McFarlane stopped paying Gaiman royalties and notified him that he no longer considered the characters to be Neil's in any way. After threatened legal repercussions, Todd agreed to a trade with Neil for the rights to the character of MiracleMan (aka MarvelMan) (which involves a whole other bit of shady business on it's own), but then Todd decided he didn't like the deal anymore, and tossed it out the window too. Gaiman eventually had to sue McFarlane over the entire debacle, which Neil won.
