I got tired of the sex kinks/freaks in every single new area/villain/character/anyone new involved in the story.
Those first few comics though were some solid ass stories.

I'm trying to remain cautiously optimistic regarding a Preacher series, but every time I read something new, I don't like what I'm seeing. I don't like this casting at all, and wasn't a fan of Ruth Negga being cast as Tulip either. I hope I'm wrong.

I gotta wonder how they're going to handle the origin of Arseface in a modern setting. Kurt Cobain's death was more than twenty years ago.

People are still going nanners over Cobain's death. Montage of Heck was just released and Soaked in Bleach comes out this summer. I'd say it's still relevant enough that people will get the reference. OR they might just make up a musician for the sake of people who aren't aware of Cobain.

I agree that an unawareness of Nirvana is not an issue. It's just the notion of a teenager emulating his death because he's so distraught/stupid twenty years after the fact. They'll probably just go with a fictional musician, but it's just not the same.

I really hope this is good. There is a lot of potential, let's hope Seth Rogen doesn't disappoint us in this.

May 22 for the premiere. Also, here is Ennis' reaction. That actually gives me a little bit of hope

I still think they could have gone a little more grotesque with Arseface look.

After watching the pilot, I'm intrigued but not sold on Preacher as a TV show. So far it's all just set up, and I've gotta say that I don't care for much of what I'm seeing so far. The characters of Jesse, Tulip and Cassidy are all spot on. What I'm most concerned about is that it looks as though the series (or at least the first season) is going to take place in Annville, TX.
At it's core, the comic Preacher is a road trip story. We follow Jesse, Tulip and Cass as they travel across the US literally searching for God. There are plenty of detours, but those only lead to still more travels to exotic locales and outrageous characters.

They have to eventually leave Annville. It doesn't work, IMHO, any other way.

Characters from several of the subplots of the comics series have been moved from their original locations to Annville, TX. There's bound to be a reason for that.

Finally got a chance to watch the pilot episode and I must say to come into this knowing absolutely nothing about Preacher I really enjoyed that premiere.

The second episode was great. They really did find the perfect Cassidy. Just seeing The Saint of Killers for that short intro was awesome.

I'm watching Preacher purely out of curiosity at this point. I just finished episode 4, and I'm still not enthused. There are some intriguing bits, but it's being dragged out far too long. Maybe I'd feel differently if I hadn't read Preacher. As it is, I find my self wanting to shout "Get on with it!" at the TV every few minutes because it's so bloody slow.

I watched the Pilot -- having never read any of the source material -- and yeah, for one, it struck me as really slow and also really fucking weird. I'll give it a few more episodes, but my hopes aren't exactly high. Now, I can appreciate slowness (I think The Americans is one of the best shows on TV, and the past two seasons of that have been the definition of methodical), but the pace of the Preacher pilot seemed like the frustrating kind of slowness to me.

I've been enjoying it. With that being said I actually started reading the comic, love that even more. If I read the comic way before I watched it on TV I would probably be upset, they seem to be changing things up a little. Currently I'm on book #46, so not to much longer to go.
