Each episode has been a different facet of the show - full on alien abduction, silly monster-of-the-week, super-scary horror monster-of-the-week, supernatural sci-fi people with abilities. I've loved that it took all the different kinds of episodes we got with the series, and gave us some more of each. I really hope this continues, because it has more than made up for the atrocity that was the last two seasons of the original show.

I really hope this continues, because it has more than made up for the atrocity that was the last two seasons of the original show. Were they really that bad? Kind of. There were a couple of decent stand along episodes but that's when it really became clear that the Alien/mythos episodes were always a complete mess and that they were never going anywhere. |

The End - child chess progeny in danger Yeah. That's the last one I saw. That episode and the movie were supposed to wrap up The X-Files. From my understanding, season 6 is a soft reboot of the series. They even moved production from Vancouver to Los Angeles. |

Mulder's departure was a big downfall for the show. As much as I like Robert Patrick, his arrival was when the show started dwindling in quality. I watched for the sake of watching the entire series, but I did not enjoy watching those last couple of seasons like I did the rest of the show. |

I hate fanboys and I hate being associated with them. Their opinions are so radical they do more harm than good. Was the revival of The X-Files a piece of shit? Sort of. Were the later seasons of The X-Files a piece of shit? Probably. But that doesn't give people the right to reconstruct history. The X-Files, in its prime, was not a piece of shit. And Chris Carter, in his prime, wasn't a piece of shit either. The X-Files wasn't "90's good". It was good - period. I'll take X-Files in its prime over some of today's so-called "great television" like True Detective. Then again, I'm an old man. So what the fuck do I know?
