Wait, so we're not picking new s winners from what was actually nominated? No. You create your own version of the Oscars. Nominate whatever you want. Give awards to whatever you want. This is your Oscars. Then, I'll take the most common nominees and winners and create a CS! version of the Oscars. Patience is needed, these aren't things that can just get thrown together in a couple of minutes.

Just out of curiosity, are you nominating the theatrical cut or the director's cut?

Directors is the cut I've seen, so I guess it, though I didn't really think about it, outside of making sure I didn't nominate the film for editing.

I skipped out on Kingdom of Heaven, at the risk of pissing off Doomsday , but I'll definitely give some "fictional Oscars" to Blade Runner. Speaking of which... Blade Runner didn't win any real Oscars. It lost to E.T. and Gandhi in the categories it was nominated for. I don't know how you feel about that, but it's something to keep in mind for the next round.

The only one that really brings on the waterworks is that scene in A History of Violence when Viggo goes fucks his wife on the stairs.
I remember thinking her back must've been killing.

That's the first thing that pops into my mind when that movie is mentioned. I'm glad we're kindred spirits in this topic.

The second is the 69.
What glorious scenes.
Though I haven't been able to look at Aragorn the same way since.

You have way too much love for "Fast Times at Ridgemont High", best picture nominee over "Blade Runner"? Amy Heckerling over Ridley Scott? I know you're Mr. '80s, so surely this can't be so. I'd forgive this if Phoebe Cates was nominated for Best Supporting, but no, give the nomination to the other girl in the movie who shows her boobs.

There's like a million "director's cut" of Blade Runner. Every time I turn around there's a new version of Blade Runner. Fuck that. I'll acknowledge the movie's technical achievement, but that's it.

Lol, well it is your list. I've seen both the theatrical and director's cut (what you're referring to for the other cut is the "Final Cut" which I have not seen but is supposed to be the best) and found the director's cut to be superior, though more difficult to understand the plot if that's your intro to the film. The theatrical has some clunky (and highly publicized and debated) voice-overs by Ford that the studio thought was necessary. Both are awesome, I definitely can't agree that any part of any version of that movie is a piece of shit. It's cold and distant, yes, but that's the tone it should have. We may never see a more unique and perfect blend of genres (I know film noir is a style not a genre but you get the point) ever again. "Blade Runner", like San Dimas High School Football, RULES!

There's FOUR versions of Blade Runner. The original cut with that AWFUL voice-over. A version from like, 1990, that eliminates the voice-over but is the same edit. The Director's Cut. And the so-called Final Cut. I don't like Blade Runner enough to keep track of all these versions.

The Final Cut came from 2007 I believe, and I need to watch it. I can tell how excited you are for the upcoming sequel!
