Probably. Looks like we need a new prime minister too, now... Our country is fucked. I'm going to Mars. Failing that, Canada. Got a spare room, IanTheCool? π

What the hell was that vote about? I know what it did, but what was the problem that led to it?? In a nutshell, certain elements of David Cameron's Conservative party splintered off to form a (more) right-wing, Euro-sceptic movement. This, combined with an increase in support all over the country for other political parties with similar views, led to him appeasing them by offering the chance for a referendum, hoping a victory would quash their anti-EU stance. The 'Leave' side then lied their asses off and went into propaganda overdrive in order to sway the ignorant and non-voting masses that immigration (mostly), and by that token the EU, is/are to blame for all that is wrong with their lives, the UK, and the wider world. This is despite experts in pretty much every discipline and industry agreeing that leaving would have a massively negative impact. The men spearheading the campaign are repulsive, and no better than Donald Trump. This is a very scary precedent, and I say that as a native who'll be the least affected (I also hate David Cameron, and the fact that he's essentially the good guy in this situation shows exactly how ridiculous it is). Here in London (where the majority opinion was 'Remain'), one of the most multicultural places on Earth, I have many friends and colleagues who're terrified of how this will affect them. The worst thing about it is that people aged 18-34 voted in favour of 'Remain' (70%+), and its them who will be most impacted. The higher you go in age ranges, the lower the Remain % gets. In short: Fuck (most of) the babyboomers. Sorry, no room here in Canada. Too late, I'm en route.

Wow, I'm still in shock over the UK's decision to leave the EU. And it sounds eerily similar to the Tea Party movement. What a debacle, I'm so scared to check my stock portfolio today.

It killed the United Kingdom. Scotland will leave. Northern Ireland will likely rejoin the rest of Ireland and become the new center for the EU since Dublin, supposedly, has favorable banking laws. So it's just England and Wales that will be "independent ".

He means Scotland will now leave the UK as they largely voted to Remain and won't want to be a part of the EU exit.

Most politicians are circumspect enough to lie for as long as they can get away with it before admitting they have no intention of following through with their campaign promises. I suppose now that he's conned enough idiots into believing his nonsense, it doesn't really matter any more if he admits the truth. Just wait until they realize that leaving the EU won't result in any of the immigration changes they thought they were voting for.

Is it too late for the queen to veto this or something? There must be some reason they're keeping her around, if not to put a stop to this nonsense I don't know what.

Oh yeah, listening throughout the day I got the jist of it that the refugee and immigrant problem is why most voted for the exit. Yeah once that reality sets in there's probably going to be some anarchy - especially with what the move did to the pound.

I'm hearing a lot of voter's remorse today. They want a do-over.
Moral of the story is never let the people vote on a complicated issue they don't understand, because the public is an idiot.

If millennials voted as much as they bitched and moaned about everything they would rule the world.

n the wake of the historic vote, stock markets have plunged and the value of the British pound dropped to its lowest value in 31 years, prompting many to regret their decision to vote for the Brexit
"Even though I voted to leave, this morning I woke up and I just β the reality did actually hit me," one voter told Britain's ITV News . "If I had the opportunity to vote again, it would be to stay."
I voted leave to help our economy. However the Β£ has plummeted and I immediately regret my decision π. Plus Farage is a lying tosser! π‘
I'm a bit shocked, to be honest," he said. "I'm shocked that we actually have voted to leave, I didn't think that was going to happen. My vote, I didn't think was going to matter too much. I thought we were just going to remain."
Urm I think I kinda regret my vote, I had no real reason to pick what I did!!
I personally voted leave believing these lies and I regret it more than anything, I feel genuinely robbed of my voteπ‘π€π
On Thursday, Google reported a nearly 300 percent spike in searches for "what happens if we leave the EU" in just one hour.
Other top questions searched on Google following the Brexit results included "What will happen now we've left the EU?" and "Which countries are in the EU?"

I decided to do another comparison between Fox News and Huffington Post today, and things have changed some. The last time I looked on HP, only the die-hard Trumpeters were bothering to sound off, and most of the conservatives just couldn't be bothered, and on Fox most of the conservatives were bemoaning who they've been saddled with while the democrats poked fun at them. These days the posts of the public on HP generally consist of progressives using Trump's own words to detail how they feel about him, while conservatives use things Trump says about Clinton. On Fox, good luck just finding an article about Trump that allows anyone to post comments. On the rare occasions when comments are allowed, posters tend to either bash Clinton, comment on whatever it was Trump is quoted talking about in the article (immigration, trade, etc) without actually mentioning Trump himself or his positions. Since Trump has a habit of changing positions on a subject from one sentence to another, I suppose this is understandable. The actual Trump supporters on Fox seem to be pretty thin on the ground still, with only a few die hards providing any real support.
The other place I've started checking lately is Las Vegas. The bookies are rarely wrong, and on the rare occasions when they are, it's not by much. They were wrong about the outcome of Brexit, but they had the odds at 3 to 1, so it wasn't particularly long. In the US Presidential race, they've got a Trump victory at 260 to 1 at the moment. Last week it was 240 to 1, and it was 220 to 1 the week before that. Every time Trump opens his mouth, his odds just get longer.
