I appreciate that Bernie is starting shit. This guy is so full of shit.
Dude says this one day:
"As an Independent member of the US Senate, I caucus with the Democrats. In that capacity I have been proud to work with President Biden on one of the most ambitious pro-worker agendas in modern history.
We passed the American Rescue Plan to pull us out of the COVID-19 economic downturn; made historic investments in rebuilding our infrastructure and in transforming our energy system; began the process of rebuilding our manufacturing base; lowered the cost of prescription drugs and forgave student debt for five million Americans. Biden promised to be the most progressive president since FDR and, on domestic issues, he kept his word."
Then the next day he's saying "the Democrats have abandoned the working class" the next. Which one is it?
They spend four years bending backwards to try to impress these people and deliver for them and all they ever get in return are denial, goal post moving, attacks, and abuse. If you want to know why Kamala Harris spent the last two months of her campaign "moving right" it's because at a certain point she realized that trying to impress the Bernie wing of the party was a waste of time and that it would just result in their usual "Lucy pulling away the football" routine.

The last thing the Dems should do is listen to Bernie. Feeding into the lie that nothing was done for the working class. We've seen the biggest closure of the wealth gap in decades the past 4 years, wages outgrew inflation.

If we can put the tin foil hats on... It's kinda wild that every battleground and swing state went blue down ballot but hard right red at the top. When has that happened before? They want their state and local reps to be blue but decided to vote against them being able to do anything while in office?
There's rumors of a ton of ballots with just the trump ticket punched and not a single other office voted on. How often does that happen?
Pa looks to be electing the one change vote, every other swing state even red as fuck Arizona voted for their blue senators to go through. North Carolina was completely blue except the top ticket. Again I'm going to ask...how often does that happen? In a state below the mason Dixon line?
Maybe we do need hand counts and paper ballots honestly. The elections have been poisoned. Maybe this is all above board and it's all coming together as was voted on by the people. But the nagging feelings are there now on both sides. Perhaps paper ballots are the way to go.

Again I'm going to ask...how often does that happen? I will say even by Republican standards they once again nominated some super shit candidates for these major offices. Kari Lake cost AZ the governorship a while back and now she gave red AZ yet another Democrat Senator. She's giving Martha McSally a run for her money. And Mark Robinson's campaign in NC tailspinned into flaming shit. I don't know what kind of campaigning these Republicans do in the primaries but boy do they know how to pick turds.

The GOP Arizona senate candidate was a MTG/Boebert level loon and the North Carolina governor candidate was caught having called himself a black nazi and we know way too much about his pornography preferences.

Now do Nevada. Wisconsin. Michigan. They were all polling higher than Harris before the election, most of them ended up under-performing their polling but not by enough to lose.
Statewide candidates can tailor their campaigns to local concerns and it helps them get split ticket votes.

Speculating about how the characters from the major movies of the year would have voted in the election this year. Focusing only on characters who appear to be American citizens and are likely to be alive in the year 2024.
Abigail: Trump Voter. Not sure if she'd be able to establish citizenship, but she and her father are rich and would like to take advantage of the corruption that comes with Trump.
Anora: Harris Voter. Single young New Yorker
Babes: Harris Voters. Bohemian New Yorkers
Bad Boys Ride or Die: Trump Voters. Close call here as African Americans obviously lean Dem, but these are bro cops in Florida who probably get their news from Rogan.
The Beast: Trump Voter. The main American character here is a violent incel.
The Beekeeper: Harris Voter. Dude gets pretty anti-establishment as the movie goes on, but doesn't start there, and as an immigrant voter probably doesn't like Trump.
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice: Harris Voters. Family is rich, but with artsy liberal vibes
Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F: Harris Voter. Unlike the Bad Boys cops this guy splits his time between Detroit and L.A. and his daughter is clearly pretty woke.
The Bikeriders: Trump Voters. Rural working class whites.
Blink Twice: Harris Voter. Uh, can't go into too many details without spoiling but that ending could have changed history.
Challengers: Harris Voters. Educated public figure establishment types.
Civil War: Harris Voter. Photo journalist. Probably very mad about the WaPo non endorsement scandal.
Conclave: Harris Voter. Looking at the film's main American Character (Stanley Tucci) who's clearly a liberal.
Deadpool & Wolverine: Harris Voter/Trump Voter. Assuming these guys were naturalized Americans. Deadpool has clear ties to the queer community but I could see Wolverine being a old crank
Dìdi: Harris Voter. Immigrant in California.
Drive Away Dolls: Harris Voters. Queer women who hate conservative politicians.
The Fall Guy: Harris voters. Californians in the film industry.
The First Omen: Harris voter. Strong feelings about female body autonomy.
Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire: Trump Voter/Harris Voter. Paul Rudd character is from rural Oklahoma, bad sign, but Carrie Coon character is a Chicagoian raised by a scientist.
Ghostlight: Trump Voters. Hate to say it but these are rural white working class people we're dealing with.
His Three Daughters: Harris Voters. Women voters in New York.
Hit Man: Trump voters. Let's be real, dude's a white Texan who worked for the cops. Wife probably goes along with it.
I Saw the TV Glow: Harris Voter. Closer than you'd think given he's working class and suburban, but mixed race and respects queer people (despite denial about, you know.)
Immaculate: Harris Voter. Very pro choice.
In a Violent Nature: Trump Voter. Dude seems to be pretty hostile to single women.
Inside Out 2: Harris Voter. If Riley was 11 in 2015 she should be voting age by 2024. Going to take it on faith she doesn't have stupid ideas about trans women in women's sports.
The Instigators: Harris Voters. Seem pretty supportive of that Asian mayoral candidate, I think he's coded liberal.
Joker: Folie à Deux: Trump Voter. Anti-Establishment in the dumbest ways possible.
Juror #2: Trump Voter. Rural white Georgian aspiring family man.
Kinds of Kindness: Trump Voters/Trump Voters/Stein Voters. Rich people in the first story, Cops in the second, WooWoo people in the third.
Love Lies Bleeding: Harris Voters. Queer women, hate misogyny.
Madame Web: Harris Voters. Single New York women.
Maxxxine: Harris Voter. Would be pretty old by 2024 could see her flipping conservative late in life, but her bad experiences with the religious right probably keeps that from happening.
Nickel Boys: Harris Voter. Elder black voters are reliable Ds
Nightbitch: Harris Voter. Artsy educated New York suburbanites.
Quiet Place: Day One: Harris Voter. Black New Yorker.
Rebel Ridge: Harris Voter. Closer than you'd think given that he's a rural military veteran, but his general distaste for police makes me think he's not into Trump.
Road House (2024): Trump Voter. Former MMA fighter living in Florida...
Smile 2: Harris Voter. Probably endorsed Harris on Instagram while holding a cat.
Strange Darling: Trump Voter / Harris Voter. The man is a rural cop. Woman is harder to pin down, but seems to not be that into patriarchy
The Substance: Harris Voter. Despite some massive internalized misogyny her L.A. identity probably swings Dem.
Terrifier 3: Trump Voter / Harris Voter. Art the Clown would definitely voted Trump because game recognizes game. The final girl seems pretty progressive though.
Trap: Trump Voter. Blue collar suburbanite white guy.
Twisters: Trump Voter. Redneck skewing Oklahoman pickup truck driving bro youtubers.
Venom: The Last Dance: Harris Voter. He's a reporter from San Francisco who doesn't seem to like tech bros

I might argue Logan would be anti-Trump given his whole deal with Laura was helping an orphaned Mexican sneak across a border. Also the X-Men generally being a metaphor for the oppressed. That said this is a different variant Logan but still.
I'm also wondering if Deadpool would be one of those "gays for Trump" but that might just be my haterdom talking.

If we're being really real Logan probably just didn't vote, but I decided not to cop out like that in this exercise.
As for Deadpool, he definitely has some bro tendencies, but most of those "log cabin" gay types tend to be really buttoned up dudes trying to downplay their sexuality rather than the ones who publicly joke about pegging and I have to think Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Yukio, and his black roommate would talk some sense into him if he drifted that way.

How the fuck did we let a bunch of concern trolling at the New York Times nullify a primary? Yea this is wild that he did this. Pelosi took the bait and wants to play kingmaker - all the old guard Dems totally let this go down. And now bidens isolating alone with covid and making bad decisions. Embarrassing as always. I'm imagining an alternate universe where Biden drops out in 2022, then every time his successor had a bad day these same pundits freak out and say "OMG, bring back the guy with a proven track record of beating Trump, what are you fools doing?" and then today we have the chosen nominee stepping down and endorsing a renewed Biden re-election nomination. Democrats had 4 years to pick a successor. They’re asleep at the wheel. And Kamala ain’t beating Trump. Kamala is less likable than Hilary. I don't think that's true. Or at least I'd say the hatred for Hilary ran a lot stronger. Republicans had something like twenty five years to come up with bullshit reasons to "hate" Hilary, they haven't put the same kind of work into smearing Harris. They didn’t need 25 years. She got hate the moment her husband put her in charge of healthcare. Kamala was already known as a questionable D.A. during the 2020 election. They’ll just dig even deeper. Republicans win 218 US House seats, giving Donald Trump and the party control of government apnews.com/article/republicans-house-elections-e3754a684a7b96b129841d4b207c15e9

DraculaSen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., said he is looking forward to working with the Trump Administration and hopes that President-elect Donald Trump sticks to his promise surrounding the cap on interest rates. "I look forward to working with the Trump Administration on fulfilling his promise to cap credit card interest rates at 10%," Sanders wrote in a post on X on Friday. "We cannot continue to allow big banks to make record profits by ripping off Americans by charging them 25 to 30% interest rates. That is usury," he wrote. www.foxnews.com/politics/sen-sanders-says-looking-forward-trump-fulfilling-promise-credit-card-interest-rates

This would mean tons of poorer people will not be given credit cards.
Or young people.
Inherently risky people to lend to.

This would mean tons of poorer people will not be given credit cards. Or young people. Inherently risky people to lend to. Yeah, but consequences and results don't matter to these populists. They usually just say whatever sounds good on first glance then hope someone stops them from actually doing the thing that people will come to hate. I'm sure that Trump is desperately looking for an excuse to get out of the tariff shit for the same reason.
