They cared enough to say "Fuck you, big government They didn't. Hillary won the popular vote and Trump's turnout was similar to John McCaine and Mitt Romney. The "angry white voter" is a myth. The Republicans showed up and the Democrats didn't. It was that simple. Hillary got 10 million less voters than Obama. That was the issue. She lost the progressive voters and it cost her the electoral vote. Yes and no. The Republicans have the senate and the house. If people REALLY were against big government, they should have voted all these people out of office. The establishment is still in place. The Republicans who fucked with Obama are still there. Paul Ryan is still there. Mitch McConnell is still there. You REALLY think Trump is gonna make any difference? That's why, yes, Bernie Sanders would have made more sense. That's the part Dracula fails to understand. Bernie is a progressive. He would have vetoed a shitload of stuff. He wouldn't have changed anything, but nothing would be reversed either. Trump is gonna take us back to George W. Bush politics. Not because he wants to, but because he's not gonna challenge the Republicans. Hillary, like her husband, is more of a moderate. She would have compromised a lot more than people are comfortable with. Her husband, even if you supported his 8 years, did make compromises that fucked us as much as W Bush. The liberals want progressive. That progressive vote - those 10 million people - were only gonna show up for Bernie or at least Elizabeth Warren

You do realize, Trump isn't on your side. He will keep everything Obama has kept. Nothing will change Obamacare might change into something else. But the bans on Muslims and race wars will continue. I hope it fuels your rage, while you watch people either die or get harassed.
But Fuck the establishement, lets flush this country down the toilet you did it, lets all celebrate the victory that is Trump. But please I do hope all of us starve to death or something crazy happens next election lets vote in an even crazier person.
This country is in a very dark place. It had it's problems, but it stood for something called democracy.
Now it's back to being in the 60's of one race is set to over-power and silence the rest.

What the hell kind of sense does that make?

It doesn't these angry white americans who for whatever reason, are enjoying this and they don't care about anything decent or good. There anger has fueled them enough to say FU to the establishment and the system.
Some people just want to watch the world burn...

Again. The turnout for Trump was not much different than McCaine and Romney. The Republicans have the House and Senate. The base showed up - as usual. Clinton, on the other hand, lost 10 million voters. The progressives didn't show up. That's the story here. The Democrats fucked up. Hillary wasn't the right candidate. Let's try not to fuck up again in 2020. Also, for the love of God, show up for the midterms in 2018.

Sorry, I'm being a self righteous ass. I'll scale it back, sorry guys. Emotions are running high this week.
It's hard to distinguish between Trump the enabler of white supremacists and Trump the not-Big Government guy. I get that. I am HOPING the former is quickly shot down as we have no room for discrimination. I will never support that. I want to believe that Trump has ISIS in mind, and not an agenda to vilify all Muslims. And I hope I don't see backwards redneck idiots rising up or feeling their hatred legitimized. That has got to stop and is unacceptable.
Did y'all see the new gun laws he is proposing? I actually think it's a pretty good middle ground. I'm somewhat impressed.

Jamie Dimon would make a spectacular treasury secretary. He's a democrat though, so fat chance he's accepting that.

Those people really are the worst of the worst, if Trump and his admin wants to unite the country. That's not how you do it.

This is who is to blame for Trump. There's a lot of truth in here, but I think we could do better than having British Steve Wilkos to explain it to us.

I find it so ironic how Wisconsin and Michigan, the same states where Bernie beat Hillary in the primary are the states that also handed Trump the election.
Trump rolled to victory on a wave of spite. Many people voted for him not because of his bigotry, but in spite of it, and to poke the DNC right in the eye for their tampering.

They handed him the election because they were the last to be counted?

Their politicians did everything they could to make sure the government was ground to a halt over the past 8 years, and then they hollered and screamed about how Obama didn't accomplish anything.
They scream about how they don't want the New York elite telling them what to do, and then vote for one.
They complained about how their jobs have been exported and no longer exist, and voted for a guy who literally exports manufacturing of his products and hires illegal immigrants to construct his buildings.
They said he would drain the swamp and get rid of the insiders, and the first thing he does is start recruiting the worst of the worst insiders.
I understand their frustration. I understand not liking Hillary. But I DON'T understand how they couldn't see through his paper-thin smokescreen of rhetoric and complete BS.

There is a lot of truth there, but I think there's been too much nastiness from both the left and the right. I've had more insults hurled at me than I hurled at them, but there certainly has been enough insults from the left too. But let me say that doesn't excuse the obstructionists that stopped government over and over again for way too long. I think that would be the main reason the left got so pissy. Not working with each other pisses everyone off.

I dont get the violent protestors for Trump or any people who get violent and start bawling because a candidate loses or wins. I never saw the need too make threats or bawl over a politican. They all lie and make empty promises. Its just no president wants too be the guy like the presidents under or when the stock market crashed. Am I the only person who kinda misses the George W Bush Days. He wasnt very smart but atleast he was no Trump.

I'm watching Back to the Future on TBS. If they ever remake this movie there will be the scene where Doc Brown says, "Donald Trump? The reality star?!"

Basically the only now red swing states that Bernie won were the two you named and New Hampshire (which went Clinton).

It's difficult to say how much was spite, how much was bigotry and how much was the E-mail scandal. Hillary was never able to counter-balance or overcome any of her bad press. Trump, if we have to give him credit, didn't give a shit about any criticism and that seems to have worked.
