I talked with a few of my left leaning friends earlier today and then a couple of my very conservative friends a while after. Of course thy have different ideas on things but the one area of agreement is that the GOP has been set on fire and thrown off a bridge.
In a way it's funny to think that a year ago the Republican party was in a pretty good spot. Then shit happened but there was some room for optimism. Then the election happened but there were still some bright spots for them to look at. They look like they're in a pretty good spot for retaking the House (at least they did) and it was likely they were going to keep the Senate. Not anymore. It was only after the election that Trump soaked the party in gasoline and set it on fire. He did what people said he was going to do, he dragged the Republican party down with him while he sank. I just don't think anyone expected it was going to happen in the final few weeks of his presidency.

I'm so angry about what happened yesterday that the only thing that could possibly quell me is ending the day with the removal of Trump from office and seeing him hauled out of the White House in handcuffs.
