Not meaning to defend Trump here but I find these types of polls disingenuous. Thinking in terms of abortion, Biden is clearly for it and would ensure its not impacted and that baby killing mills powered by Planned Parenthood would get lots of funding. I just find it difficult to square in my head how kids would vote for Biden, those same kids that technically, a few years ago, could be considered by their mother to not be human, right up to 9 months, depending on the state, and aborted as a choice, if the mother did not want them. I know a pro-life perspective is not popular here on these boards, I'm not meaning to offend or shame anyone. |

They’re just picking whomever they overhear their parents are voting for. My teachers in Elementary and Middle School would do these mock votes to survey who’d win the Election. As far as I can remember, our little classroom experiment did indeed reflect the actual Election results. I “voted” for Clinton because he was the guy playing the saxophone on Arsenio Hall, not cause of anything my family had to say. |

We do have a lot of Republicans here, namely in rural areas (of which there are plenty) and definitely Orange "you can't make me wear a mask while I'm on my yacht" County. The only times that California has actually voted Republican in presidential elections though were for Nixon and Reagan, both of whom are from the state. Arnold was an anomaly. I mean shit, if I was old enough to vote at the time I probably would've voted for him too. Gray Davis was a horrible governor that no one liked, and the prospect of having The Terminator as our governor was hard to pass up. Things weren't so divided then; the thought of voting for a moderate Republican like Arnold wasn't so "WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING!?" as crossing party lines today would be. |

It'll never happen, but it's a nice thought. Arnold was not a good governor who handled budget cuts by massive furloughs of state employees and wasn't able to reinvigorate the state like Jerry Brown did after, but seeing him deliver serious speeches was hilarious. But yes, I'd take him over Trump any fucking day of the week. Trump is inept in ways that Arnold couldn't even dream of being. We all still love Arnold and he's become an ally against Trump even if he wasn't a great governor. Trump is a piece of shit who has done more damage to the country than any president in modern history. |

Bush was incompetent and out of his league as president. He also was advised by horrendous people like Rumsfeld and Cheney who pushed him to okay a multitude of horrible things.
But what makes Trump and his followers so dangerous is their insistence on peddling conspiracy theories. Yes, the internet today is well beyond what it was then but it's astounding the amount of fact denying and conspiracy pushing that Trump and his cult are behind. We have half the country literally denouncing facts and science for unproven, whacky conspiracies. Bush wouldn't and couldn't conjure that level of dangerous thinking up.

Right, and not only that he put the exact antithesis of these positions in charge. Scott Pruit (who should be in prison for the corruption he caused) was head of the EPA. A coal lobbyist who doesn't believe in climate change. Betsy DeVos in charge of education, who doesn't believe in public school funding. Ben Carson for HUD, who doesn't believe in public housing. I mean it's almost comical when you think of Trump choosing people that are there solely to completely dismantle the very branches they're supposed to be overseeing. |
