It's because Trump wrecked us from within. All his cabinet choices were/are disastrous and he's literally put all branches of the government on life support. Right, and not only that he put the exact antithesis of these positions in charge. Scott Pruit (who should be in prison for the corruption he caused) was head of the EPA. A coal lobbyist who doesn't believe in climate change. Betsy DeVos in charge of education, who doesn't believe in public school funding. Ben Carson for HUD, who doesn't believe in public housing. I mean it's almost comical when you think of Trump choosing people that are there solely to completely dismantle the very branches they're supposed to be overseeing. The pandemic is the result of that. Clinton, W Bush and Obama spent 20 years assembling a pandemic task force and Trump disbanded it as soon as he got in office. We literally can't survive another 4 years of Trump. What if there's an environmental disaster or another housing crisis or student debt leads to another recession? Our government is in a weakened state cause of him.

Our government is in a weakened state cause of him. He lacks foresight, intellect, and an ability to learn anything from anyone who isn't a total sycophant to him. Four more years of him would take us decades to recover from, and that's not hyperbole.

In humble defense of my hometown, Orange County does have its fair share of yacht club elites although I think there are far more in LA. Orange County by and large is full of Reagan Republicans, people who moved there in the 80s and 90s as young professionals when the housing prices were about 1/4 of what they are now and before it got super developed and gained the reputation for being full of blonde Real Housewives idiots. They're traditionally conservative there but for the most part well educated, more or less white collar professionals which is why they can usually convince themselves to get behind whatever Republican is running for office but then gave a finger to Trump when he came along. They'll argue supply side economics until they're blue in the face but won't be waving any 'God hates f@gs' signs or some shit. They've swung the past couple election cycles but it's my understanding that it's due to the increasing Latino community rather than shifting ideals among longtime residents.

I've been discussing this with the wife and you guys can say what you're experiencing but I just don't know about Tuesday. Take the polls off the table, pretend they don't exist for a minute. Now where I live in Los Angeles it's a beach town, there are some older people for sure but I'm still near LAX, Manhattan Beach and some popular hangs. It's not hipster central like Silver Lake or Hollywood but it's not like I live in Alabama. I see Biden signs every once in a while. A neighbor down the road has one. I see another on the way to the freeway. I see Trump stuff everywhere. I mean everywhere. In Los Angeles. SnoBorderZero what's it like where you're at? Are you seeing anything similar at all? Like I said, forget the polls for a minute. If I were to go based on what I'm seeing in my day to day, way more Trump signs/bumper stickers/etc. vs. Biden, Trump rallies on tv vs. Biden's (I get it, Biden takes covid more seriously than Trump but still), just an overall wave of enthusiasm for Trump that I'm seeing even in southern California that I just don't see at all for Biden, I can only imagine what it's like in bona fide Trump territory. If you were to ask me how I would think the election would turn out solely based on what I'm seeing with my own eyes I would tell you Biden doesn't stand a chance. Then I see the polls. Biden up everywhere. Trump with a 30% chance to win. Blue wave. I mean I'm not one of those people who thinks the polls are BS but that's just not what I'm experiencing. My eyes see one thing but I'm being told another. What's missing here? Because of it turns out that Trump actually wins and the polls are just way, way off then lots of heads are gonna roll.

Part of it is the cult of Trump and Fox News. They're so trained that everything is to "own the libs" that they're very vocal about their support. No one thats voting for Biden beciae Trump is an utter failure and they'd vote for any Democrat is gonna have a Biden sign. Neverending was a Bernie guy. He doesn't have a Biden sign.

That's my main thought, no one is huge on Biden like they were on Obama or Hillary but they're very, very passionate about getting Trump out. The question though is what will get more people out, voting for a guy because you love him or voting against a guy because you hate him?

I've spent most of the pandemic walking around my city and various suburbs. There's a Biden sign on 3/4 of houses along with various other "bye don" signs, black lives matter signs, and "in this house we believe in science..." signs. I have seen exactly one Trump sign, and that was pretty deep in the suburbs. This probably shouldn't be too surprising, this is Ilhan Omar's district after all, but I don't think it's much more liberal than Los Angeles so if I had to guess I'd guess that the Biden campaign is just saving its signage budget for actual swing states. This isn't to say I'm not prepared for the election to go south given what happened in 2016 but I would not say that I relate to the experience you're reporting.

All we can do is vote. Whatever the outcome, we did what we needed to to try and change it.

In the new neighborhood we put out sign up cuz fuck em, the direct neighbor has a trump flag and 4 signs, perpendicular neighb also has a flag. But there are Biden signs everywhere. Not at all worried about Allegheny county voting for Biden though, it's a done deal in this region. The local like strip mall had a trump rally the other week with crazy white folks in trucks, but that's kinda to be expected in the burbs ish.
But I've also traveled the state a few times during the year and yes trump stuff is also legion.
Certainly nervous, especially on the news when you hear repubs are voting early as well, and that new voter registration for the right has outpaced the left handily in the last few months.
The roomie and I have had discussions about the election that got very heated and serious, she thinks we should not have a child if he were to win again. I certainly want children. This election has long reaching consequences for myself.

What about the Senate? That is the real election. Biden can win, but if Moscow Mitch is still in charge, nothing’s gonna change. If Trump wins, but Moscow Mitch is out, we can impeach Trump, but we’ll end up with Mike Pence. Doomsday, what’s your feeling on this?

Here in Tulsa, there are soo many Trump signs, it feels like we're drowning in them. Hell, we've got some businesses hanging 20 foot banners from their roofs. For years, whenever I saw an Obama, Biden, Bernie, etc sign, or bumper sticker, I almost want to applaud, because its such a rarity here. I don't know if we're in such a minority here, or if its because we don't feel the need to publicly profess our undying devotion to our false God.

That's interesting, especially since we live very close to one another. My next door neighbor wears anti-mask, pro-Trump bullshit all the time but he's all I've seen. Everyone around us is very pro-Biden. There's definitely some of the older Republicans around that I'm sure are voting Trump, but they're smart enough to not be overly vocal about it in Los Angeles. I wouldn't worry too much. Trumpees are very vocal and loud and proud about supporting their criminal president, whereas the support for Biden for some is more out of being anti-Trump than enthusiastic about Biden. My place doesn't have any Biden signs or gear adorning it, but myself and my roommates are all fervent Biden supporters and hate Trump with a passion and are all voting/have voted. Plus I think the latest poll shows California being 65-35 in favor of Biden right now.

From what I've been seeing the key Senate races have been tightening. Lindsay Graham supposedly is padding his lead, even Susan Collins who should be getting wiped out is neck and neck from what I've read. But like you said if Biden wins and the Senate stays Republican we're going to have just as much bickering as we're used to.

Would be the result of changing demographics moving from white people to hispanic.
But for the right to do the opposite in a blue haven would be absolutely the most insane timeline.
