Meh, I was more interested in X-Men. I didn't start to become "into" Potter until the first movie actually came out, and even when it did I liked LOTR more. You're not a Benjamin Button like Dracula . There's no way, at 7-years-old, you sat through 3 hours of LOTR and thought it was great. It's a movie about people walking. Hard to believe, but it's the truth. Fellowship blew my mind and got me really excited about movies. I remember my imagination being temporarily obsessed with Lord of the Rings and every year I eagerly anticipated the next movie.

I first read Sorcerer's Stone in...1999, I believe, during 4th grade. I tried getting into LOTR when I was in middle school, but just couldn't; the books or the movies. It may sound odd, but I'm just not into the LOTR-kind of epic fantasy; urban fantasy is more my thing.

I made the thread where I watched all the Harry Potter movies. I hardly remember any of them but GOF was the best easily hands down no contest not even close. The movie doesn't even make sense. There's a deadly competition involving teenagers for no reason other than shits and giggles. And you HAVE to do it if you're chosen. What kind of school is this? And when Harry Potter's name shows up, even though he didn't enter his name, people just go along with it even though shady stuff has been going on ever since Harry Potter enrolled at the school. They're too busy worrying about school dances to focus on the villain's lurking in the corner. Then, when the bad guys unleash their attack and Harry Potter is almost killed, a bunch of random ghosts show up to save the day. Come on. Goblet of Fire is bullshit. Prisoner of Azkaban is bad too, but at least it has enough humor and electric filmmaking to make it an enjoyable experience. SnoBorderZero

Lol, well you make a damn good point. I guess the retort is... tradition? Yeah, yeah, let's go with that, plot hole covered!

The case can most certainly be made for Azkaban, but honestly, depending on what day of the week you ask me, if there's a change in the wind, etc., I could just as easily call Prisoner of Azkaban or Deathly Hallows Part 1 my favorite of the franchise.
Azkaban has the best musical score of the films, no doubt about that.

If you missed the IMAX re-release of the Harry Potter movies, never fear, they're getting a regular theatrical re-release as well. I might end up watching one of them. Maybe the first one. Maybe the Prisoner of Azkaban. I don't know. We'll see.

Prisoner of Azkaban turns 15 today, and I wish I could take credit for this write-up:
And cue a typical anti-Harry Potter remark from Neverending in 3...2...

It's the best because it gave us children of men in the long run. Without this success they wouldn't have given cuaron carte blanche for the adaptation.
I also do consider it the best because Yates is trash.

I get to see Prisoner of Azkaban on the big screen again tonight. And that marked the TENTH theater viewing of that movie for me. The most I've ever seen any movie on the big screen.
