The James Bond reboot kept Judi Dench as M. I hate when people say that. The James Bond franchise has a soft reboot with every actor. Unless you believe Pierce Brosnan played the same James Bond who was battling Spectre and Goldfinger in the 1960's. So if you wanna get technical, the old guy who played Q was there for almost 40 years and 5 actors playing James Bond. was a clean break from the original franchise, apart from Judi Dench playing M. Bond gains his 00 status in the opening scene, and we are introduced to a Felix Lighter who has never met James Bond and hasn't had any limbs bitten off by a shark. As for all previous actors playing the same character, yes they do. So what if it doesn't make any sense? Lots of things in the world of 007 don't make any sense. |

You can make an argument that Sean Connery, George Lazenby and Roger Moore played the same James Bond but Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan were definitely not the same Bond even though there was a reference to Tracy in License to Kill. Brosnan didn't even have a Felix Leiter. He had Jack Wade played by Joe Don Baker and he had that fat guy from Harry Potter playing a Russian.

I guess they are trying to get a real young look. I wish they would just bring Andrew Garfield back, but I know that's not going to happen. Or they could try to get someone who would be good in the role. |

I don't buy any of this, and wouldn't be a bit surprised if they've already settled upon a final choice. Now it's just a matter of hammering out a contract that will allow Sony & Marvel Studios to use their choice to their hearts content while also granting time for roles that aren't Peter Parker.

As a minority, I can confirm. This is low-key racism. Instead of creating ORIGINAL characters who are minorities they just turn Peter Parker into a Puerto Rican and Nick Fury from David Hasselhoff to Samuel L. Jackson. Present Day Marvel doesn't give a shit about minorities. If they did, they wouldn't half-ass their efforts. They just wanna silence the credits by pretending that they care. The only time Marvel put any effort into this was in the 1970's and '80's with the X-Men and Luke Cage and Blade and Black Panther. That was awesome. Give us more of that and not this lazy shit. |

Falcon, Blade, Night Thrasher, Amazing Man, Cyborg, Black Panther, Cloak, Deathlok, Storm. Always been black.
Green Lantern (John Stewart)is very popular and Miles Morales, also very popular, is replacing Peter Parker as Spider-man in the new shake up at Marvel. Parker's continuity and history are too long and strained to keep things somewhat straight with every writer so Morales is the one they can build upon.
...and they are also sticking it to Sony, Universal and all those others with tangled rights to Marvel characters, by changing them lol
The main reason we haven't seen a new stab at Hulk movies is because Universal has distribution rights to solo Hulk stuff - however, there is a loophole, if Marvel doesn't put Hulk in the title, Marvel gets the distribution rights as well as production.

Miles Morales has been around for a couple of years and has earned his own fan base.
However, anyone that reads this announcement and figures that Peter Parker won't still be around isn't used to how Marvel announces this stuff.
