All am saying is if they want original Spiderman they should do a returns bit not another reboot of a reboot. I mean my goodness Spiderman 3 was not that bad to never use these characters again. Well They may need a new mary jane because Kirsten Dunst is not quite the same and other then her that was my only problem with Raimi and Foreman as Venom. ..... |

The press release specifically stated that Feige & Pascal will take Spider-Man in "a new creative direction". Going back to the singing and dancing version of Peter Parker that we got in the Raimi movies is nothing new. It's been done, and they don't want to do that. Not gonna happen. |

Well I just think another reboot of another aunt may and uncle ben and so on just is not going to save Spiderman. Make Spiderman older not younger. Maybe he retired for a while. Logan Lerman is not the answer if ask me.

Personally, I think the best solution is to keep rolling with Garfield, have him show up in Civil War, have Feige help Sony just make a better Amazing Spider-Man 3, then continue to have Spider-Man doing his own thing and popping up in the MCU from time to time. There's nobody out there who want to see another Spider-Man reboot, just stick with the things that have been working (Garfield) and revamp the rest.

I agree. Although they seem to believe that the two ASM movies are or will be too disconnected from the MCU. That could have been Marvel's stipulation as well. If Spider-Man is going to be involved in their universe, it needs to be their Spider-Man.

Personally, I think the best solution is to keep rolling with Garfield, have him show up in Civil War, have Feige help Sony just make a better Amazing Spider-Man 3, then continue to have Spider-Man doing his own thing and popping up in the MCU from time to time. I agree with sshuttari. Ditch Peter Parker and make it Miles Morales. Why? Personally, I think it would be super easy to incorporate Andrew Garfield into the MCU. There's nothing in the two ASM movies that contradict what's happened in the MCU. Even the absence of Spider-Man during the New York attack can be explained since ASM was released two months after The Avengers. The REAL issue is the standalone Spider-Man movie being released in 2017. ASM2 was a mess and I doubt Marvel wants to deal with a follow up to that. The easiest solution would be to kill Peter Parker in Civil War - which mainstream audiences would never see coming - and introduce Miles Morales as the new Spider-Man in 2017. Or... just take the risk and do the Clone Saga. In the comics, it was Gwen Stacy's death that launched the Clone Saga. It's the only natural follow-up to the mess that was ASM2. They can even bring back Emma Stone. They can even introduce Ben Reily and have him be Scarlet Spider in the MCU while Peter Parker does his thing in the standalone series. |

Is this the best way to introduce a new spiderman in a grey area.I say Keep Garfield kill off Harry because makes a bad Goblin make up and look wise. Bring back J J Jameson from Raimi Spiderman. After he signs up though, Peter gets a first hand look at the reprehensible way Stark, Richards and Pym go about enforcing registration, and defects to the anti-registration side. Spidey was never a "snitch". That would be Tigra, who was pro-registration but pretended to be anti-registration in order to spy on Cap and his cohorts. I'll agree with keeping JK Simmons on as JJ Jameson. He was perfect in that role and should be retained, regardless of reboot. If Sony can keep Judy Dench as M after rebooting James Bond, they can keep JK Simmons. |

I am telling you I dont think they will be able to make Robert Downey Jr Appear that unlikable. I am still in the belief it be better that yes Stark feels guilty and is behind people signing up. But the real reason him and cap go at it is that people who want Cap and Stark to fight show Tony evidence that Winter Solider had killed Tonys parents. I think i can see Cap try to keep his friend alive and can see Tony be about revenge more then evil over politics.

Here are the only two scenarios that seem to be in play at the moment:
1. They stick with Andrew Garfield, he shows up in Civil War (or even Avengers 2 maybe), is in his stand-alone ASM3, Sony continues to do what they want and Feige/Marvel just try to help them do it better, Spider-Man occasionally shows up in other Marvel films with an implied larger role in Avengers 3.
2. They recast with a new actor/story/reboot, probably skip the origin since everybody knows it, etc. Spider-Man shows up in Avengers 2 or Civil War and is given the Iron Spider-Man suit, and that's how the character is distinguished from the previous incarnations.
The first scenario kind of contradicts Feige saying the character will be taken in a new creative direction.
The second scenario contradicts the idea that Sony is still going to make the Sinister Six movie. If they're going to reboot Spider-Man and that world, then why are we supposed to just buy-into a Sinister Six movie? It kind of made sense the way ASM2 ended, but I don't think it works if the universe is brought back from scratch again.
I'm curious to see how this all comes together.

Now Rothman can finally do for Sony Pictures what he was unable to manage at Fox, run the studio completely into the ground. Once Sony is dead and buried, there will be no more of this nonsense with sharing creative control over Spider-Man. If Sony is stupid enough to saddle themselves with this loser, it's what they deserve.

Lots of rumours about who Spider-Man will be and who could be playing him... my two cents would be to show an adult Spider-Man/Peter Parker. The high school stuff is overdone and I fail to see how the dominant and biologically mature prescences such as Thor, Cap, and Stark, will view him as there equal. Sure, thats what the film will be but I don't the fans will believe it.

I can only imagine the spats Rothman will have on the production of the new Spider-Man films. One could hope that in the Marvel/Sony contract, Feige can have a higher level of input, but I doubt it. Not that high in the chain of command at Sony.

There is a zero percent chance of Garfield coming back. Even if Sony held onto the rights solo they were going to replace him, he pissed them off by missing meetings and not doing enough to promote the film and saying a lot of it didn't work.
