This movie is on HBO a lot. Has anyone bothered to re-watch it? I think what I love the most about Gravity is that it's only 90 minutes. I've grown tired of every blockbuster being 3-hours long for no valid reasons whatsoever. Gravity is simple, to-the-point and emotionally satisfying. It's neither mindless entertainment nor pretentious. I think if Hollywood made more movies like Gravity, the box office wouldn't be in the gutter. 2014 was a financial embarrassment and major studios need to start taking notes.

I wouldn't mind watching it again. I liked it when I first saw it albeit I never considered it to be an Oscar winning achievement (Academy voters disagreed). It seems like a movie that would hold up on a rewatch at least on an entertainment level.

I might even argue that Gravity was indeed the best movie of 2013. Although, as a comedy fan, I really loved Seth Rogen's This Is The End and that'll probably be the 2013 movie I end up watching the most times. But regardless, Gravity deserved all the praise and success it got and hope it inspires Hollywood to re-think their practices. When it's all said and done, Gravity was WAY more embraced than Interstellar.

I haven't bothered to watch Gravity on HBO because I don't have a tv and sound system needed to make this worth watching.

Yeah... for a first time viewer I would recommend watching the movie in the best format available to home consumers. But for repeaters, it doesn't matter. The story and the characters is what matters and not the technical stuff.

Now I kinda want to watch it again. But yes, I did enjoy it much more than 12 Years A Slave as well. Doubtful I'll ever watch that movie again.

I have no desire whatsoever to watch 12 Years again. 12 Years a Slave is fantastic and very deserving of its Oscar. I've watched it three times so far. Doomsday and I had the definitive critique of that movie. DOOMSDAY: It didn't feel like 12 years. 12 weeks? Maybe. But not 12 years. ME: White Jesus saved the Black guy. ::facepalm::

Gravity deserved all the technical awards, but I wouldn't go further than that. The story was straight forward, but the execution was top notch.

"Gravity" deserved what it got for its technical mastery, but the story and characters are what keep it from being great. I liked "Gravity" when I saw it, but there's no way it was better than "12 Years a Slave" in basically anything other than special effects. Same with "Her" and "Blue is the Warmest Color".

Disagree. 12 Years a Slave was the best film of 2013 as far as I'm concerned.

Yeah, "12 Years a Slave" was the best followed closely by "Her", those were my top 2.

Her was better than all of the above. You know what, I agree. Her is well-deservedly the Best Movie of 2013, in my book. 12 Years and Gravity are 2 and 3.

12 Years a Slave IS a great film, but Her connected with me on a deeper level.

See, that's what frustrates me about Her. I can see the intellectual and emotional value, and yet I can't really connect with the film on either level.
