I feel it nailed human interaction and relationships better than I've seen a film do maybe ever and also was an excellent commentary about our society's lack of communication despite our advances in technology without being in your face or finger-pointing about it. To me it's easily the most underrated film of the decade thus far, it needs more attention from the American public then it's gotten. Critics are well aware of it, but you ask casual movie goers and they have no clue what you're talking about. Which is funny because they're the dumbasses in our society that need to see the film most of all.

I... didn't even give a positive review to Her. I've been meaning to give it a second chance but it really kind of creeped me out on an almost viceral level. The very idea just made me uncomfortable, and not in a good way.
My tops for that year were 1. Blue is the Warmest Color 2. The Wolf of Wall Street 3. 12 Years a Slave 4. Inside Llewyn Davis 5. Before Midnight 6. Gravity

If it doesn't find an audience there, it probably never will.

Her is amazing. Gravity is stupid, has awful dialogue, and is occasionally really fun.

Gravity is awesome. Ending sucks, if they had it all be just a hallucination and her freezing to death in the final shot it would have been perfect, but what a ride at 90 minutes.

Gravity was a little too standard with Bullock's past. For a movie that hinged on her "reconciliation", not a lot of time was spent with her inner turmoil. It felt a little too contrived.

I finally saw this, 2 years too late.
Wow, what an incredible achievement. I got ridiculously emotional multiple times.
Kowalski: "It's a hell of a story."
I'm just sorry I didn't see it on the big screen. Best film of 2013, without question.

Guys multiple women have told me I have no idea what love is, so I don't know if I love you both, but this movie is great.
Emmanuel will make it 3/3 oscars in cinematography with The Revenant this year (I have my reservations about the actual movie though, but it will look great), has that ever been done in any (major-ish) category before??

Yeah, Art Director Thomas Little won four years in a row from 1941 to 1944 and actually won five oscars in that stretch because they gave out separate Oscars for color and black and white art direction back then. He won for How Green is My Valley, My Gal Sal, This Above All, The Song of Bernedette, and Wilson. He only won one more after that but would be nominated a total of 21 times between 1941 and 1953 (when he seems to ahve retired) including four separate nominations in 1952 (two for color and two for B&W). None of the movies he was nominated for strike me as having particularly awesome sets, so go figure. Costume Designer Edith Head also won four Oscars between 1950 and 1952 (winning both color and B&W in 1951) for The Heiress, Samson and Delilah, All About Eve (for which the aforementioned Thomas Little was also nominated but didn't win), and A Place in the Sun. In a matter of speaking Pixar also won four consecutive Best Animated Feature Oscars at one point, but those technically went to separate directors. In a similar vein, Walt Disney won Best animated short eight years in a row from 1932 to 1939, then MGM won it four years in a row from 1943 to 1946

He won a total of 22 competitive Oscars, which is a record.
