Wow had to do some digging to find this thread Well this comes out Friday and I thought some people might be interested to know that so far out of 6 reviews on RT it has a 17%. I know that's probably going to raise a little bit but man those are some bad reviews so far.

Fox has been doing advanced/test screenings for the past week and word-of-mouth isn't bad.

I'll take the word of a harsh critic over the popcorn flick lover audience out there.

Sounds like Fox had some biased test screenings.

I told you guys that no rockbrow would be the death knell of this movie.
Give the rights back to MCU already.

Sounds like Fox had some biased test screenings. Not really. Most people don't "hate" the movie. The Internet is just being really loud right now. Once the dust settles, Catwoman will go back to being the worst superhero movie.

The Internet is just being really loud right now. Once the dust settles, Catwoman will go back to being the worst superhero movie. Not really? Now it's sitting at a 28% audience rating out of 120,812, and keep in mind these are average people not critics. I think it's safe to say that yes most people do hate this movie. The more audience reviews that come in the lower the rating drops.
I have yet to see this movie and it will be a long time before I do (Redbox), but it has the same exact RT score as Catwoman but that movies audience rating is a 18% out of 273,938 people. If it keeps up this trend then it will have a lower rating than Catwoman.
Which is really hard to believe..........

Word of mouth is putting a serious hurt on the FF. It was originally projected to earn $49 million at the domestic box office. Now it's dropped to only $27 million. It seems doubtful that the international market is going to be able to make up the loss.
Perhaps this will finally convince Fox that it's time to stop throwing money down the FF money pit, just as Sony did with Ghost Rider. Unfortunately, Fox's history would suggest that they won't just hand the rights over. They kept their Daredevil reboot in development hell until they contract went into default. The only small glimmer of hope of the FF returning to Marvel Studios are the current negotiations underway regarding Fox wanting to develop a live-action TV show based on the X-Men, something their current license doesn't cover. The FF franchise is so damaged at this point that it's not worth much Fox, but Marvel Studios would surely love to get Galactus, Silver Surfer, the Skrulls and all the other characters tied to the FF movie license, even with the core characters so publicly damaged.

It's sitting at a 28% audience rating I don't think the average moviegoer takes time to rate and review movies on the Internet. That's somethings fans do. Word of mouth is putting a serious hurt on the FFYes and no. It has a C- cinemascore, which is not good at all, but we also can't ignore that every movie this weekend isn't doing well either. Even with $27 million, the Fantastic Four are looking very likely to be #1 this weekend. Or at least a close #2. All the recent movie theater shootings, there has been two this past month alone, are forcing people to stay away. There's no reason the VERY popular Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation is struggling to beat the VERY hated Fantastic Four this weekend. There's a bigger issue here that people are ignoring.

I call BS on the recent shootings causing people to stay away. Crappy movies make people stay away. Not random acts of violence at 2 of the 40,000+ theaters in the country.

Then explain why Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation isn't the #1 movie this weekend by a large margin. Assuming it even ends up being #1. This time last year, Ninja Turtles and Guardians were dominating the box office and people only liked one of those movies.

TMNT and GotG both had appeal to a bigger market. Plus GotG had amazing word of mouth. My sons and his friends all talked about both of those movies, I don't hear any of his friends talking about MI5.

Say what you will but I have yet to hear one "average moviegoer" say they like this movie. Even my 11 year old nephew said he didn't care for it.
I'm sure there are some people out there that like it but I think they are the minority.

Agreed, If that was the case then people would have been staying away from churches a couple weeks back. Majority of people have the mindset of "Well it's not going to happen here what's the chances".

School starting in most areas. Most? No. Most schools start in late August. Some even in September, after Labor Day. That's especially true of colleges. I have yet to hear one "average moviegoer" say they like this movie. I didn't say they "liked it." I said they "didn't hate it." Remember when Thor: The Dark World was released? How many people actually liked that movie? I bet very little. And yet, no one actually "hated it." The average moviegoer doesn't hate the Fantastic Four. 6 months from now, they'll forget it existed. But the Internet is never gonna forget. 10 years from now you'll still see people bitching about the movie.

Still, no one besides a few random aggorophobes looking for a good excuse, are avoiding theaters because of what happened.

I'm just saying everything I've heard from people that has seen it didn't have anything good to say, from casual moviegoers.

I was talking about the test screenings. Those, surprisingly, had good word-of-mouth. But as you said, Fox may have been targeting very specific groups.

This is a trainwreck. Trank has badmouthed it in public. His A-list career is probably over.

This is a trainwreck. Trank has badmouthed it in public. His A-list career is probably over. At a minimum, Trank is no longer welcome at Fox for the foreseeable future. As for other studios, one of them will probably throw him a bone. Fox is not without blame, and the other studios know this. Plus, Trank is more likely to be on his best behavior and to deliver the highest quality work possible for his next project in order to make it clear to potential future employers that Chronicle wasn't a fluke, and that Fant4stic's failure isn't on him.
