According to Blu-Ray.com, my Blu-Ray collection currently stands at 899.
- 820 movies
- 79 TV seasons
Though I'm looking to boot some of the more, uh, questionable titles soon.

Sell that on ebay, you'll probably get something.

Just picked up the new KL release of Scarlett Street. Fritz Lang isn't quite a household name like other older filmmakers like Alfred Hitchcock but he effing should be.

I'm trying to decide whether to get the regular release of Grand Budapest or the Criterion. The regular has a better cover with the hotel front and center, and is 1/3 of the price. But my other Anderson's are Criterion so it would be out of step with them.
Picture quality is apparently the same?

It's a box, slightly thicker than the Moonrise Kingdom box but thinner than the Fantastic Mr. Fox one. It's an outer cover that slips off on the side and inside there's a fold-out box containing the disc, a fold out poster type thing, a slightly thicker than usual booklet, and a smaller zig-zag folded booklet with some scrapbook type imagery in it.

She has never, ever heard of Fritz Lang. He deserves to be on that pedestal.

The average Joe (or Joan) gonna be familiar with him. I bet your mom knows who M. Night Shyamalan is too. But in film circles, Fritz Lang is on a pedestal.

Lang suffers (in terms of mainstream recognition) from his best and most iconic movies being German. Scarlet Street, Fury, and Ministry of Fear are all real good and The Big Heat is awesome, but Metropolis, M, and the early Mabuse films are where his legacy is and your average joe is not gonna for them.

Yes, I shall have patience. Also, Drac sold it to me with the comparison. And he's right, I do want the matching set

I've said it before, but while I certainly enjoy having Criterions among my collection, the thicker cases do annoy me a little when adding them to the shelves.

I like their cases quite a bit. Not a big fan of the box cases though.
