My own Letterboxd review:
Now, back when this movie first came out, for whatever reason I remember giving it a pass. I guess because Hugh Jackman and Liev Schrieber are both solid in the film and I found the action entertaining. Looking back on it, I have to ask: what the hell was I thinking?
While the central two performances may be good, the rest of the film is just...blah. It's full of problems like bland, thin or uninteresting characters (some of them all three at once), shoves action down our throat when we want it to develop a story and completely ruins the continuity of the original trilogy. And we can trace that all back to screenwriter Skip Woods, who (save for The A-Team), is pretty much the kiss of death for your film when you hire him as a screenwriter. I mean, this is the same guy who wrote Die Hard 5; the dude just can't write well. But, watching this movie again, I had to wonder...wasn't there ever a point in filming where Hugh Jackman just broke character, looked into the camera and said: "C'mon, guys, is THIS seriously the best we can do?"

That scene is neat, though I don't think the execution is quite as good as the idea of it. Still a strong scene though. You're awfully harsh about the only Canadian superhero. You're forgetting Gordie Howe.

They ruined "Dead Pool" that alone was the biggest travesty.

I've been saying this for the past 14 years: Hugh Jackman HAS to be Clint Eastwood's illegitimate son. Also, if Eastwood dies without making a movie with Jackman, I will be fucking pissed off. It's bad enough that Eastwood never did a movie with Charles Bronson or Steve McQueen or even James Coburn. Fuck you, Eastwood. Get your shit together. From HJ himself: Looks like you'll have to keep waiting.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine was not the only disappointing movie made in Australia. There was also... STREET FIGHTER (1994)As someone who was alive and conscience in 1994, and had played the infamous Street Fighter 2, I know exactly why everyone hated this movie. The answer: how the fuck is this Street Fighter? It looks like Street Fighter. It smells like Street Fighter. But it's not Street Fighter. Street Fighter isn't about people shooting each other. It's about people fighting, damn it. And just to add insult to injury, Jean-Claude Van Damme is cast in the main role and his only fight scene is with Raul Julia. This movie is bullshit. Or at least I thought so till 2005 when YouTube came into the scene. Turns out, Street Fighter is an awesome movie. That's Raul Julia, suffering from stomach cancer, and giving the best performance of his career. There's no doubt he makes this movie worth watching. And he's not alone. Everyone is hilarious in this movie. You have no idea how much I laugh while watching this giant turd. Well... Deexan knows. He shares my love for crappy movies. And so does Doomsday . But let's be real for a moment. This movie IS bad. Steven E. de Souza may have struck gold as a screenwriter in the 1980's with classics like 48 HRS, Commando, and Die Hard, but he was out of his element here and this movie pretty ended his directing career as soon as it started. Not to mention that it killed any chances for future Street Fighter movies and other video game adaptations. So one can say that more harm was done than good. Still... I have to give the movie credit. For 9 years I thought people had forgotten about it, but the Internet is the Dr. Frankenstein of the movie business. It makes you wonder what else the Internet will bring back to life. C- (which is an upgrade from the "F" I gave it in 1994. you win this round, Internet.)

I was 11 when this hit theatres (and a SFII addict) and even back then I came out thinking that it was mostly a pile of steaming crapola. God knows what adults of the time must've thought. Ken and Ryu were so embarrassingly adapted, it was laughable. Thankfully, that same year saw the release of this: Thus balance was restored.

What do you guys think about Ahnuld's "Collateral Damage" from 2002? I was surprised at how poorly received the movie is considering I've seen way worse from him, but I question my 7/10 rating for it from about 8 years ago. I think at the time I felt it got a bad rap because it was too close to the 9/11 events, but I'm sure it was also pretty bad and I ignored its flaws or something.

Collateral Damage is pretty bad. I saw it when it was released but I've caught it a bit here and there on tv. There's next to no action and is absurdly unrealistic. It's not bad like Batman and Robin bad but just a forgettable nothingness of cinema.

It's pretty preposterous even by Ahnuld standards; a fireman infiltrates the Cartel in South America to avenge his family. Yeah, that's one that I should reevaluate the other way around.

A fireman infiltrates the Cartel in South America to avenge his family. I remember the premise. I just don't remember the actual movie itself. I saw it once when it was released and never bothered with it again. The other 9/11 movie I remember watching was Behind Enemy Lines with Owen Wilson and... Gene Hackman?... and I also haven't bothered to re-watch it either.
