Saturday morning cartoon plot but charming as hell. Gal Gadot and Chris Pine continue to be a delight. Kristen Wiig and Pedro Pascal are great.
Its been a rough year. Let me masturbate to Gal Gadot without being criticized.
I enjoyed the movie. It’s schlock but good schlock.

I liked it.
I'm probably going to go against the grain and say I enjoyed Birds of Prey more.

I don’t expect anyone here to like it. Maaayyybe PhantomKnight. Maybe. And SnoBorderZero cause he’s a fan of 2000’s superhero movies. Although this felt more like a 1990’s era superhero movie. Pedro Pascal is up there with Jim Carrey and Tommy Lee Jones in the hamming it up department.

I'm probably going to go against the grain and say I enjoyed Birds of Prey more. lol. How many coked up fight scenes were in this movie? I thought so. And this was supposed to be a superhero movie taking place in the 80's. Not nearly enough bathroom snorting. Unrealistic.

Over long first act, decent third act. 80's schtick gets a little tedious at points. Strong villains. But well acted and fun action.
No, not as charming as the first one, but definitely made with the same spirit.

The more I think about this movie, the more I'd describe it as at least as good as Captain Marvel. There's nothing hugely wrong with it and it's functional, but rarely great.

This was no good. It was boring and hokey in all the wrong ways, I like the cast but this story was atrocious. All the powers they gave her, then that ending... Awful.
But that's not to say I didn't have a good time watching a fresh blockbuster. We need these. This one just happened to be pretty trash. But it's about even with the first one, pine still charms, gadots incredible, wiig is fun, and pedro isnt that bad once he settles into an accent (but he really needs hair on his face).
Give that a big ole meh, 5/10.

I'll watch this at some point over the next few days, but you can expect a lukewarm review when I do.

I've heard nothing good about this movie. It’s getting trashed by everyone, but it’s a giant over-reaction. You’d think people would remember shit like Fant4stic.

Still processing a little, but I'd say I'm leaning more toward the positive side. Definitely has a silly plot in comparison with the first, but it pretty much makes up for that through the sheer exuberant tone it has and its emphasis on how the plot affects the characters, which I thought was pretty well-handled, particularly in how it ultimately drives home the theme at the center of everything. Plus, the cast brings a lot to it, especially Gal Gadot and Chris Pine yet again. Not as good as the first for sure, but still plenty fun in its own right.

I dunno, I kinda liked it. Yes, the central conceit felt like the premise of a Ducktales cartoon, but I was still mostly entertained. But maybe just starved for movies.

I am so glad I didn't bother seeing this at a theater. It would not have been worth it. This movie doesn't deserve the silver screen, which is a shame. I planned on seeing it again at a theater, but now I don't see any point.
It's good that they weren't trying to just make the same movie over again. It's important to not just recycle the same formula. The story we got with WW84 strikes me as the sort of storyline I expect to be in a comic book. This would have worked perfectly fine as a six issue run of the ongoing Wonder Woman comics. As a feature film, it just doesn't work. What's worse, this isn't supposed to be just another feature film. It was intended to be a major tentpole movie expected to make loads of money for the studio. Even if COVID19 hadn't turned 2020 into a cinematic wasteland, WW84 wasn't going to achieve the level of success WB wanted.
