They reaaaaaally dumb down kevin as the series progresses. I think the character gets more balanced near the end, it's a rush job but it works. |

I really really struggle to remember a lot of 7-9 and the stuff I do remember is just so bad. I'd be willing to give a couple of those episodes a whirl to give it a fresh perspective but, ya know...

The Farm - the episode that was supposed to set up the spinoff There was also the Mr. Robinson: Music Teacher show that didn’t pan out either. That’s why Darryl was disillusioned with Dunder Mifflin and wanted to leave. Craig Robinson had shot a pilot for his own show. Add to that, Ed Helms’ limited availability due to the Hangover sequels, and you can see how misguided those last two seasons were. They bet on the wrong horse. They had already set up Jim as co-manager of Dunder Mifflin, only to later make Andy the manager. And Darryl is promoted from the warehouse to the office, only to say, “I think I’m meant for greater things in life.” They should focused on the core of Jim, Pam & Dwight and also given more attention to newer characters like Erin and Gabe. |

The potential new series, which is not a reboot, would likely be set in a new office with new characters but live within the same world as the Steve Carell-led mockumentary series which follows employees at the Scranton, Pennsylvania, branch of the fictional Dunder Mifflin Paper Company. While individual original cast members could presumably pop up in a new franchise series, a full-blown reunion appears to be out of the question. B.J. Novak, who was also a writer on the American series, previously told Deadline, “Definitely you wouldn’t get everyone back together, that ship has sailed.”
