Going to give a quick plug for a couple:
I think Boyhood belongs on here for sure. It's such a unique production that managed to really turn out spectacular. Additionally, it's a movie that's very much a summation of the first twelve years or so of the 21st Century and is in many ways one of the first movies to truly be about the Millennial Experience insomuch as there is one, and as such I think this is a list that it uniquely belongs to be on.
Similarly, given that September 11th is in many ways the defining moment of the century so far (or at least it was until fairly recently) I think United 93 really belongs on this list as it's in many ways the strongest film to be made about that event and manages to create a genuinely tense thriller out of a loaded recent event in a way that doesn't feel exploitative and which is also constructed in a unique and innovative way.

It’s great, harrowing stuff and absolutely deserves to be on the list...but it’s a hard movie to re-watch. |

Now things are getting a bit interesting. Currently, Letters From Iwo Jima and The Dark Knight lead the pack at 5 a piece. Right behind them at 4 each are: Boyhood, Parasite and Birdman. However...four other movies are right behind those with 3 votes each: The Florida Project, Arrival, Whiplash and Before Sunset. The numbers are so close, that one or two more votes for any in the latter two groups could give us even more than five new entrants in this current batch.
I'm thinking of leaving this up until the morning to see if things change.
