Inter Eternal Wolf Spotlight Inter-eternal Wolf Spotlight is one of the most powerful, thought-provoking films I've ever seen. Good call.

Inglorious Basterds, Eternal Sunshine and Iwo Jima are the current leaders. Will leave this up until the morning.

Well, we currently have a 4-way tie. Both Inglorious Basterds and Eternal Sunshine have 5, while Letters From Iwo Jima and Mad Max: Fury Road have 4. Neverending is the lone holdout, but I've noticed he never signs on till later on Mondays. Should we wait for him? He could theoretically break up this tie.

Final tally:
Inglorious Basterds, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind - 6 Mad Max: Fury Road - 5 Letters From Iwo Jima - 4 Birdman - 4 Crouching Tiger, Wolf of Wall Street, United 93, Apocalypto, Dunkirk, Boyhood - 2
Everything else either had one vote or nothing. Inglorious Basterds, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Mad Max: Fury Road are in, giving us our first 10.
Stand by for how we'll proceed from here.

Alright, who here is okay with the overall format of this thread thus far? I'm fine with either. I like how your newest proposal takes a bit from donny's latest tournament. And if we dont vote in all 90 nominated coming up, we have room for cleanup at the end. Or someone who takes in the next 10 can re-push for something not really supported early on.

Alright, who here is okay with the overall format of this thread thus far? I say we keep going forward with the format we were using. It will get more exciting as the no-brainers cycle out.

Well, I currently have feelers out to the first two people -- Dracula and PG Cooper -- to submit two sets of ten or one combined set of twenty to be what we vote on first in this proposed new format. The basic idea is we keep voting on movies similar to your and donny's thread until we fill out the remaining 90.
But to clear up some confusion voiced by Dracula earlier: the movies submitted don't have to be based on if they're your Top Ten of a decade or anything. They merely have to be any ten movies you think are worthy of the list. You can mix and match how you choose.

Oh, please. Have Dracula and 1godzillafan instead to make it interesting. If you're gonna have two people at a time, make them polar opposites to widen the range of movies. Otherwise this shit gonna get stale real quick. It's already kinda boring with everyone voting for obvious stuff. Might as well just turn this into the IMDb Top 250. No one here is even considering alternative choices. We got 100 slots to fill. You can test the waters with some oddball choices.

Well, so far, 1godzillafan has completely avoided this thread. Probably because he thinks everything from this century so far has been "shit", "whatever" or "fine." I COULD pair you up, Neverending , with Drac, Coop or Doomsday to keep things interesting.
Or...
We simply continue with this format, but keep the number of movies to be voted in at one time to 3, 4 or maybe even 5 to speed things along more and get through the "no-brainers" and make our way to the more interesting/out of the box choices.

Inglorious bastards wouldn't even be on my top 200 list. It's perfectly alright but top 100? And one of the first movies picked? I dunno ...
I think the rankings will be more important. And we should go over 100 films as the baseline. Then let the silent rankings happen and see where they fall.

So far this week I've been nursing a killer hangover, checking out the recently reopened theaters because that's the only place I get "me time" anymore, and chipping away on my new review. I haven't posted in any of the tournament threads, including my own, so it's nothing personal.

Well, so far, 1godzillafan has completely avoided this thread. He saw the writing on the wall when everyone ignored Requiem for a Dream. You don't need to leave movies for later. Engage now. Every movie deserves consideration and debate. Otherwise, what's the point? You're gonna spend a month voting in IMDb and Letterboxd movies. That's why I recommended doing a donny style tournament. If Terminator can beat Raging Bull who knows which crazy movies would have had a shot. We're already 10 movies in. Just keep doing what you're doing. But YES speed it up so we can get through everyone jerking each other.
