Fuck yeah! That movie doesn't get nearly enough of the love that it deserves.

I don't have the patience to comb whatever the fuck I saw in the last decade, but here's my comprehensive list of my favorite movies from the last decade.
1. Inside Out
Thinking up anything else is not worth the time I'd put into it, even though my number one is an easy answer.

The Place Beyond the Pines had an incredible first half but after the time jump it kinda lost me a little. Gosling was amazing and when he wasn't on screen any more it lost its lustre. I agree.

Would never have thought you were such a fan of that film. That's like the one movie I can remember from the last twenty years that touched me in a strong way. I could also put Birdemic at number one, just because.

I like zero dark thirty quite a bit. What kind of political statement did you want it to make?

Top 10 Animated Movies of the Decade
10. Isle of Dogs
I'll admit that when I first saw this, I was let down. It doesn't reach the heights of Anderson's other stop-motion Mr. Fox and the human parts of the story in particular were uninteresting. But I've caught it on tv a few times before then, and every time I do I like it quite a bit more. Somehow Anderson can make a dogs furtive glance funny. It works.
9. The Peanuts Movie
This didn't and still doesn't get a lot of fanfare, but I really liked what the Peanuts movie did. It really seemed to capture the heart and soul of Schultz's comic in both story and animation. Its really a solid little cartoon.
8. How to Train Your Dragon
I think this one surprised a lot of people. This came out at the height of 3D and got a lot of hype for the flying scenes, but I guess this is a reflection of how vivid the animation is. The story works well and can be quite touching at time.

So I'll attempt my 10 favorite Action movies of the decade. I am not including comic book movies, as I think that will be a list unto itself. Secondly, I will limit it to one entry per franchise, otherwise we'd have a bunch of Mission Impossibles and John Wick's. The Ten Best Action Movies of the 2010's (Comic Books Need Not Apply)1. John Wick (2014)- The GOAT. 2. Mission Impossible: Fallout (2018)- Cruise, the other GOAT. 3. Mad Max: Fury Road (2015)- A welcome return. 4. The Raid: Redemption (2011)- Just love it. 5. Skyfall (2012)- One of only two Bond flicks this decade. 6. Fast Five (2011)- Stiff competition from this franchise, but this is my favorite. 7. Edge of Tomorrow (2014)- More Cruise, more problems. 8. Atomic Blonde (2017)- Charlize Wick. 9. Avengement (2019)- Great stuff. 10. Hanna (2011)- Young Saorise.

94. Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, MissouriBecause watching these characters clash with Martin McDonaugh's great dialogue is a cinematic joy.

That's a good list donny. I'd probably switch mad max and wick. Mad max is the obvious choice, but whateva.
The Martian is very enjoyable. 100 is a pretty deep list; so I'm not really sure how it fairs with you altogether. I don't know where it would fall on mine.
I also liked Three Billboards quite a bit. I agree with what you said about the clash of dialogue and characters. It works.

7. Coco
I'm just a sap I guess. That scene with the song at the end clinched this for me.
6. Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse
I suspected that this was mostly people getting over-hyped, but when I decided to watched it I ended up liking it quite a bit. The mix of animation styles is cool, and the death of Peter Parker at the beginning and its fallout really won me over.

I like zero dark thirty quite a bit. What kind of political statement did you want it to make? I don't have any exact message I was looking for, it just seems like a bit of a missed opportunity to make a near three hour movie about an inherently politically fraught subject matter and not try to reach some political conclusions.
