Top ten Buddy Cop Flicks of the Decade
Alright alright quit your bitchin. I'm telling you it's a weak decade. I could have stretched the definition a little but I prefer to adhere to the genre as it was originally intended.
4. 21 Jump Street - kind of a surprise when it came out but the two leads are great, lot of good side characters, there's some blatant homo erotic undertones but they play it up for some decent jokes (unlike the sequel, just feels strange and forced with all the dick jokes and the 'inadvertent' homophobia played up for too many on the nose jokes) and the action is well paced and exciting.
3. End of Watch - second of Ayers flicks, and second of peña showing up. These two guys got that charisma, a little more 'gritty' and 'real' than most buddy cop flicks but I think it deftly maneuvers between the tones pretty well, and is filmed interestingly enough to be somewhat novel for the genre. But again Jake and peña are a dream team of the genre and not recognizing that would be a tragedy.

21 Jump Street is very good, but I stand by that End of Watch sucks.

What would be everyone's all-time top 10 in this particular genre?
After Lethal Weapons 1-4, of course.

5. Blade Runner 2049 Retro-review: “The fact that it comes anywhere close to matching the beloved status of its predecessor is a miracle in itself, but that's what they've pulled off.
Special mention to the visuals of its almost-apocalyptic dystopian future, which are phenomenal. Roger Deakins's cinematography is so beautiful that you could sit through the almost-3 hours just watching the landscapes of city and desert fly by.
The performances are on-point across the board and Hans Zimmer's music blends with Vangelis' original score seamlessly to become a key part of what makes the movie so special.
I'm not sure if it will go down as a classic (or cult classic), but it is on the brink.“
(Spoiler: It did.)

89. IncendiesBecause while his Hollywood movies may have taken center stage this decade, Denis Villeneuve's last work of French-Canadian cinema remains one of his best.

Top Ten Buddy Cop Flicks of the Decade
2. The Nice Guys - a stone cold classic of the genre. Just sucks it ran into a buzz saw at the top of the list. Great chemistry from the leads, fantastic story, some nice set pieces, good side characters and gosling does his best work of the decade opposite a great straight man in Crowe.
1. The Other Guys - this right here is a masterclass in the genre. Just when we all were writing off will ferrel as a has been he comes and delivers this. Absolutely stunning use of the montage (key component to any buddy cop flick) with great music, excellent cast of characters (Keaton steals almost every scene) and the action ratchets up while still remaining fun. And an interesting info graphic on the 08 crisis for the credits makes this both entertaining and educational. Bravo Adam McKay.

What would be everyone's all-time top 10 in this particular genre? After Lethal Weapons 1-4, of course. I'm kind of itching to watch 48 Hours again before I say anything definitive, though that first Lethal Weapon is probably tops. I'll catch hell for this, I'm sure, but I think the first two Rush Hour movies are a lot of fun too. But we all hold a special place for National Lampoon's Loaded Weapon 1, which is a masterpiece that cannot be touched.
