Not to nitpick, but whoever put that video together doesn't know what the word "unanimous" means. A 20%, while indicative of poor quality, is not unanimous.

Cats is too far in the hole to eke out a profit based on "rowdy" screenings for people who love to laugh at bad movies along with other, like minded folks. Productions from film makers like Neil Breen and Tommy Wiseau can make a profit because their films didn't cost much to begin with, and had almost no marketing. Cats cost $95 million to produce, and had another $95 million spent on worldwide marketing. So far, it's made $27 million domestic, $46 million international. The studio gets most of the domestic box office, but they're lucky if they keep half of the international total for themselves, and Cats hasn't been lucky. Universal will be fortunate if they make it into the black anytime this century.

I've been in enough meetings to know that when dealing with a visual effects company, the director and VFX vendors sit and go over in detail which shots would need a butthole, what the butthole should look like, does the butthole cast a shadow? How should the butthole play continuity-wise? Should the buttholes be different colors? Do the cats have different sized buttholes proportionally? No joke, I bet there were meetings discussing this sort of thing.
Then a producer saw it and said get the fuck outta here.
