I've been retweeting Norm content on my Twitter for the last few days, and the Team Coco account just shared this one today, maybe because it tied into a story from the Conan O'Brien podcast that thebtskink shared. And when she mentioned she was in Chairman of the Board I was like "Wait a second...Norm's going to go there isn't he..." "I bet 'board' is spelled B-O-R-E-D!" Instant laugh from me. He also had the balls to say what we were all thinking: "You left Melrose Place so you could star in a movie with Carrot Top?" I was barrelled over. |

I hate to sound like ‘that snob who thinks he’s in the know’ but so many people have come across these classic Norm clips over the past 48 hours that I think I just assumed people knew about. The Chairman of the Board line which to me has to be one of the greatest late night moments of all time, the moth joke, giving the gift basket to Conan, there are so so so many great ones. I’m still really bummed he’s gone especially since I try to see him whenever he performs in LA and I know that will never happen again. It’s weird to say I know but this might be the most beat up I’ve ever been about a celebrity passing away.

I don't normally look up late night talk show clips unless I'm looking for something specific, and I've only watched Conan once in a blue moon, so a lot of this stuff is new to me.
It's been a while since I've dug my claws into some nice juicy Norm material, because the last time I saw him do anything was when he was the Colonel on KFC commercials. As much as I'm sad that he's gone, watching all these clips I missed has been a joy.
My love for Norm came mostly from SNL, The Norm Show, and Dirty Work (and to a lesser extent, Screwed). So I sampled a lot of his most mainstream stuff, I've just never been a late night guy.
