Apparently she bragged about getting a podcast comedian banned from letterboxd, then locked her account, so thats why everyone is going after her today. These Zoomers are bored and lethal. Use their tools against them, trying to get them banned on Twitter has been my go to approach recently. That dude that tried to cancel Norm McDonald has gotten banned from Twitter twice now.

Okay, which one of us is Evan Ramierez, and why did you add every movie in existence to your watchlist?

Lol, a certain Letterboxd reviewer is getting dragged on Twitter for her shite takes and I'm kinda loving it. Ugh, Brat pitt is the worst. Her reviews are always up on the highest reviews, and whatever she writes is the epitome of juvenile.

I couldn't find it, but one of my favourites was her 2.5/3 star review for The Watermelon Woman that just said "I wish this had a higher budget. We need more stories about Black lesbians!" just because it was abundantly clear she didn't like the movie but still wanted to seem 'woke'.

Okay, which one of us is Evan Ramierez, and why did you add every movie in existence to your watchlist? You can go to the "Activity filter" dropdown to the right of your stream and uncheck "watchlist additions," and you won't have to deal with that again.

I have a decent number of followers and write a ton of reviews and am lucky if I can get any "likes" into the double digits.

The "big" accounts seem to be the ones that write the short and snappy joke reviews. There are exceptions but a good chunk of the community seems to love snark. I feel like a Scrooge decrying this style but it's rather pointedly not to my tastes.

My most successful was my fake 1 1/2 star Seven Samurai review and that only has 29 likes.

My most successful was my fake 1 1/2 star Seven Samurai review and that only has 29 likes. My most successful is also 29, a 5 star review for Inception. My other double digits: Eternal Sunshine, 5 stars, 26 likes Andrei Rublev, 2 stars, 17 likes (I'm probably wrong on this - was in a bit of a funk when I saw this movie and wasn't really able to give this movie proper attention). Around the World in 80 Days, 1 star, 12 likes Sunshine, 5 stars, 11 likes Mank, 5 stars, 12 likes Shine, 2.5 stars, 12 likes Borat 2, 4.5 stars, 11 likes Apocalypse Now, 5 stars, 11 likes Reds, 2.5 stars, 10 likes Tenet, 4.5 stars, 10 likes Odd to see movies I watched years ago climb up in likes given I barely remember the movies.

I've only gone double digits with: a review of The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies where I call that series a shameless cash grab, a one-star review of Tokyo Drifter, and what I consider to be a fairly routine review of American Honey. That last one makes the least sense to me as the review is about as long and rambly as any of my full reviews and it's not of a particularly popular movie.

I'm a little embarrassed of my most popular review for Inception. Absolutely stand by five stars but also it's not a very well-written piece.

My top two most liked reviews: Wuthering Heights (1939), 2.5 stars, 11 likes
The Watcher (2000), 1 star, 10 likes. That one's really just a ranty review, but I fully stand by it.

So, why exactly does Letterboxd allow people to log certain miniseries like WandaVision, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, etc. when those are officially not movies?

Because people like to pretend everything counts as movies now and yell at you for being a "gatekeeper" when you try to actually have standards for what is and isn't a movie.

I kind of want to log Seinfeld now... Thankfully not on Letterboxd...for now. There should be a TV version of Letterboxd. I’d love to log & review individual episodes of TV shows.

Speaking of, if you have Letterboxd, consider voting against them adding TV shows. letterboxd.nolt.io/6

Is there a way on Letterboxd to easily find films someone on your Friends list hasn't seen?
