Disappointing, but not surprising after that "enemy of art" tweet. The first one has become one of my favorite MCU's, but Marvel has bounced back from this very situation before, so we'll see.

Marvel should have shown some real balls and let him direct Spider-Man 4. Marvel still doesn’t hold the movie rights to Spider-Man, so balls aren’t really an issue. Besides, Tobey is 44 years old. That ship has sailed. Plus, do you really want to see yet another Spider-Man film about someone directly tied to Peter Parker who just happens to acquire superpowers discover Spidey’s secret identity, kidnap MJ, and accidentally kill themselves in the finale? Isn’t three times enough? |

I’m sure we’ll get at least a cameo featuring Maguire in a future animated Spider-Verse movie. I expect that Andrew Garfield and Nicholas Hammond will as well. All the voice actors of the various animated series over the decades would be great, too. Anyway, regarding Doctor Strange, I’m all for Raimi. He’s a great fit, as long as long as he doesn’t try to get any musical numbers in there. |
