Is anyone else a little bothered that the eventual highest grossing movie of all time was directed by the Russo Brothers? The Russo brothers... You’re asking this question after Winter Soldier, Civil War and Infinity War? |

Not that it really matters but I’ll dig seeing Endgame at the top (if it gets there) instead of Avatar. Looking like it won't make it to the top domestically, just fell behind The Force Awakens' pace. Star Wars is multi-generational in America. Grandpa, Dad & Kid can watch it together. MCU is more aggressively millennial/generation z. There’s gen-xers like Wyldstaar but he’s a nerd from when that was frowned up. Worldwide, Endgame benefitted from China. It has grossed $600 million there. That’s why Cameron ain’t sweating this. He got Avatar to be #1 for a decade without China. It’s impressive either way you look at it. |

It's gonna be iffy, definitely coming in tight. We should have a better idea with the updated international numbers. The thing holding it back is lower numbers in several other countries. If we're comparing it to Avatar's pull, Japan, for example, is only at 34 million so far. Avatar scored 170+ there. Spain, France, Germany, and Russia are all kinda in the same boat. Depending on how long their legs are, though, things could turn around. Overseas numbers haven't been recently tallied up yet either, so we should know soon enough if it's looking more likely.
