Herogasm lived up to the hype. Not so much the scene itself. I think the premiere had a lot more outrageous stuff in it. But the episode itself is great. Season 3 might be my favorite. I think they’ve struck the right balance between juvenile humor, outlandish violence and genuine dramatic beats. Plus PhantomKnight’s homeboy Mr. Supernatural has been a great addition to the cast. My only criticism is that the Trump/Covid stuff is too much on the nose. Although I chuckled at the Imagine spoof. |

Wow. Still recovering from that episode. It did a great job of being tremendously outrageous, yet still offering up legit story/emotionally-driven beats. This show just keeps getting better and this might be the best season yet.

Solid season of TV, not just superhero stuff. Last minute was terrifying. I did not need that. Season 3 was quite good. I’m surprised the finale got backlash. People hate Ryan (Homelander’s son) and are disappointed with the Soldier Boy/Butcher & Homelander/Maeve fight. People wanted a true Homelander and Soldier Boy showdown. I can see that, but this show has thrived on the characters being emotional and sloppy. It didn’t seem like the writers and producers led anyone astray. The finale seemed on par for the show. Season 4 will be interesting with Homelander unleashed. The show might reach its full potential now. |
